JOAQUIN DOMAGOSO, the son Mayor Isko Moreno, attended the launch of “Caught in the Act” original soundtrack.
He is the lead actor in the movie written and directed by Perry Escano, but he doesn’t have a song in its six cuts. So why didn’t he record a song to be included in it?
“Sorry po but I don’t really sing,” he says. “Baka pumangit pa yung album at yung movie kapag kumanta ako.
"My co-stars are really the better singers, so para sa kanila talaga ito. I need more singing workshops to gain confidence before I can sing. Sasayaw na lang po ako.”
His co-stars in the movie who get to sing songs in the soundtrack are Andi , Jhassy Busran, Bamboo Bobadilla, Josh Lichtenberg and the father and son team of composers Alvin and Aio Barcelon.
How did the Barcelons compose the songs for the movie?
“First, we met with Direk Perry Escano to find out what the movie is all about,”says Dad Alvin.
“Then with the actors who met in person at inilagay ko ang sarili ko sa pagiging teenager to be able to relate with m. My son Aio is my consultant in writing the songs.”
“There are six original songs,” says Direk Perry. “”The themes are about friendship and camaraderie among students, about the importance of prioritizing your studies over love.
"They are all feel good songs. And everyone, both millennials and senior citizens, can relate with the songs as they’re about being in love at lahat naman tayo, nararanasan natin yan.”
So what are their songs?
“Me, I sang two songs,” says Andi Abaya. “‘Nariyan Ka Lang Pala’ and ‘Tanging Hiling’.
"The first one is a touching romantic song about searching and finding your true love in your best friend na nandiyan lang pala, while the second one is about someone na minamahal mo pero di mo makuha, so hinihiniling mo na lang sana balang araw magmamahalan din kayo.”
“My song is ‘Huwag Muna Ngayon’,” says Jhassy.
“It’s about falling in love with a guy but you realize that you should give priority to your studies muna. I can relate with it kasi ako, I really focus on my studies muna.”
"Ang song ko naman is ‘Sabihin Ko na Ba?’,” says Bamboo. “It’s about a young guyana natotorpe to tell his female best friend na mahal niya ito.
"Teenagers can relate with it kasi lahat tayo nagkakaroon ng crushes at may natotorpe kapag kaharap mo na ang love mo at di ka makapagsalita. I’m just feel so blessed that I have recorded my first single.”
Aio Barcelon has two song with the Himaya Band.
“First is ‘Ako Muna’, which is about self love,” he says. “We all fall in love, but we must realize that we cannot give love to others if you don’t love yourself first.
"So dapat, mahalin muna natin ang sarili natin, let’s not forget ourselves so we can love others more. The second song is ‘Huli Ka’, which is about genuine friendship.
"As friends, you become part of each other’s journey in life and you help each other in working together to achieve your dreams.”
The songs will be released in one original soundtrack album titled “Inner Love”.
On October 8, the songs six new music videos, all helmed by Direk Perry and containing footage from the film itself, will also be released on Star Music’s YouTube channel. Fans must not miss this extra treat.
The movie “Caught in the Act” is about high school seniors who invent a new mobile app called Caught in the Act that allows people to report crimes.
They didn’t realize that it will put their lives in danger when some criminals turn out to be cops themselves.

The millennial followers of the cast -- especially Andi Abaya’s huge fan base -- are all excited and thrilled for their idol’s two songs where the pretty 19-year old newbie gets to showcase her outstanding talent as promising singer.
Their excitement is evident on the fans’ social media accounts in support of Andi, as well as new faces Bamboo B. and Jhassy who are part of the young lead cast in the film.
Also in the cast are Karel Marquez, Lance Raymundo, Josh Lichtenberg, Shido Roxas, Ejay Panganiban, John Gabriel, among others.
Intended for the 2021 Metro Manila Film Festival, the film’s executive producers are Josie Paynor, Reagan Romero, Naj Dantes Soriano, and JCB Production.
