JERALD NAPOLES and Kim Molina are happy to topbill Vivamax’ special Halloween presentation, “Sa Haba ng Gabi”, a zombie movie.
This is their fourth movie together after “Jowable”, “Babaeng Walang Pakiramdam” and “Ako at Ikaw at ang Ending”, but this time, they are not paired with each other since Jerald is paired with Candy Pangilinan.
How do they feel about this? Don’t they miss romancing each other? It’s Kim who answers:
“Okay lang, para maiba naman. We don’t miss romancing each other here kasi sa last movie naming ‘Ikaw at Ako’, nabigay na namin ang lahat sa dami ng love scenes namin.
"Baka maumay naman ang audience kung ganun na namin ang gagawin namin. Also, we really want to do different kinds of movies.”
What is the advantage of doing a movie together when you are in a relationship? It’s Jerald who answers this time:
“Aside from we get to go to the shooting location together and we also leave together, mas madali naming naaaral ang script.
"When they give us the script, sa bahay pa lang, nagto-throw lines nakami. So pagdating na namin sa set, alam na namin ang gagawin namin kaya mas mabilis ang trabaho.”
What can they say that they are obviously now favorites of Viva as they are given one project after another?
"We’re just grateful kasi, lahat kami sa Viva, binibigyan ng work during this pandemic na yung iba, walang work. So pinagbubutihan na lang namin lagi ang trabaho namin. We’re just very lucky.”
Are they not afraid of overexposure?
“Actually, yung ‘Jowable’ and ‘Babaeng Walang Pakiramdam’, ginawa namin before the pandemic pa. Ang ‘Ikaw at Ako’ and itong ‘Sa Haba ng Gabi’ lang ang ginawa namin this year.
" As of now, kami lang kasi yung love team in reel and real life na pang-comedy, e, at dito sa ‘Sa Haba ng Gabi’, hindi pa kami ang magkapareha kasi nga si Ate Candy Pangilinan ang kapareha ko rito.
"And aside from these movies, may ginawa rin akong movies na iba ang mga kasama ko, like yung ‘Kaka’ with Sunshine Guimary na napalabas na and yung ipapalabas pa lang in December na ‘Mang Jose’ with Janno Gibbs. So thankful talaga ako for all the projects I’m getting.”
Since ‘Sa Haba ng Gabi’ is for Halloween, is it really scary?
“Horror comedy ito, so may scenes na takutan, may jump scares, pero nakakatawa rin. Sa story, maids sina Kim at Ate Candy, sina Jhemerlyn and Neneng.
"They are working sa big mansion ng isang senador. Ako naman yung driver ng senador. Then one night, nagkaroon ng zombie apocalypse at na-trap kaming tatlo sa loob ng bahay at hindi kami makalabas kasi nagkalat ang zombies outside.
"So we will survive the night or mapapatay kami ng zombies. Yun ang abangan nyo.”
Don’t miss “Sa Haba ng Gabi” when it starts streaming on VIvamax on October 29 in time for the long Halloween weekend.
