MARK HERRAS is lucky that GMA-7 is giving him a second chance.
It’s really about time he turns over a new leaf since he’s not getting any younger and he’s turning 35 years old in December.
No doubt there was a time when his star shone brightly during his early days in showbiz. right after winning as the Ultimate male survivor in the very first Starstruck in 2004.
His love team then with female winner Jennylyn Mercado was really embraced by the public and they did several movies and TV shows together.
But something went wrong somewhere. Jennylyn became an unwed mother, but she still managed to rise again and is now one of the top stars of GMA.
In the case of Mark, he also became an unwed father but his career failed to flourish until he was just relegated to playing supporting roles in “The Cure” and “Descendants of the Sun”.
He recently got into a tiff with his manager Lolit Solis who said he’s borrowing P30,000 from her, which he now denies.
But in a way, he should still thank Lolit since he was really talked about because of this, with so many folks defending him.
Now, GMA has signed him up to a new contract and he is now doing lock in taping for a new teleserye, the crime-thriller “Artikulo 247” starring Rhian Ramos.
He has a vlog with his wife Nicole Donesa, who he met on the set of the afternoon soap he did two years ago, “Bihag”.
In their vlog, Nicole cried unabashedly because Mark is leaving her and their baby to be on the lock in set for one month.
“I don’t know, I’m excited to work but I don’t wanna leave the house,” Mark declared on cam in their vlog.
Nicole drove him to GMA and when she got back home, she became emotional.
“Oh my God, nakakaiyak pala yung ganito,” she says. “First time naming magkakalayo nang matagal. Kapag nakikita ko yung mga gamit niya, naiiyak ako.”
Mark also emoted in their vlog.
“This is my first time to be away for more than a month without Corky (their son) and Nicole. It’s hard, I just want to sleep para mas mapabilis ang araw.
"But at least, may work na naman ako, so okay to make a sacrifice. I’m sure its gonna be worth it naman.”
Mark and Nicole tied the knot in a civil wedding last September 8, but their son, whose full name is Mark Fernando, was born on January 31 yet.
Mark is always posting photos of his son. But he also has a daughter named Ada, now 7 years old, with his former road manager, Diane Evangelista.
Wonder how the little girl feels now that her dad has his own family and is giving his son so much attention, with vlogs and all, that she never got before.
