These three bands will perform together in “This Bandang Juans” on November 20, 2021 streaming on KTX.ph, iWantTFC and TFC IPTV. How is it performing with each other?
“It’s surreal, very exciting” says Carl Guevarra who’s the most articulate among them. “We will be singing together in production numbers and it’s something we’ve never tried before. It’s such a rewarding feeling to be working with them as everyone is willing to give their best.
"They’re all hardworking. Walang nagko-complain. I can see their hunger as a creative artist and they’re all eager to make the show a success.
"So kami sa Juans, we’re encouraged. Kailangan galingan natin ito kasi ang mga kasama natin are all giving their best.”
“We’re sobrang thrilled,” says Melvin Carson of This Band. “Hinahangaan ko talaga ang The Juans. I’ve been following them since 2017 with their ‘Nasayang Lang’ single.
"Then the pandemic happened and Bandang Lapis naman, sumikat with ‘Kabilang Buhay’ and now, we’re so happy we are all together with them in this concert.”
“When we learned we’ll collaborate with them, we all got excited,” says Andrea Manzano, also of This Band, the only rose among the thorns.
“Sobrang salamat sa Viva for the opportunity na ito to perform with them. I am so blessed na nakasama ko silang lahat kasi I can their really feel their passion for music at nakakahawa yun.”
Each band will perform their original hits in the concert, but they also composed an original song, “Magkikita”, just for this show.
“We’ve shot the concert at the newly renovated Metropolitan Theater and this is a big production number,” says Carl.
“The song is timely sa pandemic kasi we are all eager to see our loved ones again after the lockdown. It’s inspirational, encouraging people na huwag sumuko dahil makikita rin nila uli ang kanilang mga mahal sa buhay.
"It’s a feel good song we wrote in a studio. Nagkakahiyaan pa kami sa simula, then lines stated cropping up and we’re able to finish the entire song in just about an hour.
"Everyone threw in their own ideas. In just one day, we have made our demo. Nakakatuwa and I admire everyone’s humility. Walang nagpabida-bida, walang paastigan. Sa rehearsals, sa meetings namin, everyone is so eager to give their hard work.
"Director Paul Basinillo made sure everyone is given their own moment in the show. He worked it all out with us, from the background videos, the treatment for each number, trinabaho niya talaga with us and you can see it all in the concert.”
