ISADORA WITH MARK HERRAS
ISADORA was one of local cinema's hot bombshells of the late 80s and early 90s. She joined the Bb. Pilipinas pageant in 1984.
“16 lang ako noon at si Direk Gil Portes ang nagsali sa’kin para raw sa Miss Young Philippines,” she recalls.
“Kasi naglalaro pa ako ng piko noon kaya thank you girl lang ako. Nag-aaral pa ako but they introduced me sa ‘Alapaap’ ni Direk Tata Esteban.
"Tapos, pinagbida ako sa ‘Amanda’ ni Direk Ron Gallardo with Greggy Liwag at kinuha ako ni Direk Celso Ad. Castillo in ‘Lihim ng Kalapati’ with Vic Vargas and Ricky Belmonte.”
She then became a frequent leading lady of action stars. She fell in love with Chris Castillo, the son of Celso Kid, and they got married.
“But when he went to the States, hindi ako sumama, ayoko roon, e,” she says.
She then met a guy with whom she was together for 16 years, but nine years ago, they broke up and she has been single since then.
“I became busy sa aming church and as president ng homeowners association namin sa San Jose in Bulacan. Then every now and then, may kumukuha sa’kin sa indie films.
"I did a lot of movies for Cinemalaya like ‘Cuchera’, ‘The Liars’, “Children’s Show”, ‘Nuwebe’ and ‘The Sister’ with Sue Prado.”
She has now just finished her first locked in teleserye for GMA-7, “Artikulo 247”, a crime drama starring Rhian Ramos, Kris Bernal, Mark Herras and Ben Alves, directed by Jorron Lee Monroy.
“I play yung best friend ni Carla Martinez, na mother nina Mark as Elijah and Ben as Noah who are brothers in the story.
"Maldita akong friend dito, mahadera. Si Rhian ang bida rito at si Kris naman, bida-kontrabida. Bale one month kaming locked in sa isang resort sa Nasugbu.”
So how’s her experience in her first locked in taping?
“Okay naman. First time ko sila nakatrabaho but mababait yung mga kasama kong young stars, marespeto. They call me Tita. Nagkasundo rin kami ni Miss Carla and the director, mabait din at nag-thank you pa sa akin for accepting the project.
"Actually, I auditioned sa kanila. Pinabasa nila ako ng lines and they said bagay sa’kin yung role na may pagkamalandi. Mahaba yung role ko, e.
"Maganda rin yung location, by the beach. Good accommodations, masarap ang food. Kaya lang, bawal kaming mag-swimming dahil sa health protocols. Jogging lang puede, basta naka-mask. Mababait lahat ng staff, asikaso kami.”
She enjoyed doing “Artikulo 247”.
“Na-excite ako kasi mas magaling na akong umarte ngayon kaysa noon. Kahit anong ipagawa nila sa akin, nadadalian ako.
"May ginagawa rin akong bagong movie tungkol sa isang stuntman, but nahinto ang shoot noong mag-surge ang omicron, so nagteleserye muna ako. And I hope masundan ito ng more TV assignments kasi nage-enjoy talaga ako to act again.”
