FILIPINO-Canadian singer-songwriter John Concepcion releases a brand new single, promoted in the Philippines through Warner Music Philippines (WMP), titled “FYS (F*ck Your Sign).
John is a 25-year old R&B artist from Canada who gained worldwide popularity as a YouTube content creator whose influences include Chris Brown, Bruno Mars, Ty Dolla $ign, Usher, and Justin Bieber.
He has consistently and steadfastly built his YouTube Channel which now has 67,000 subscribers. His cover of Justin Bieber’s “Yummy,” which Justin Bieber saw himself, has amassed 750,000 views and counting while on Spotify, John’s self-released singles and EP have cumulatively breached the 1.3M mark in terms of streams.
John attributes his passionate motivation from his family, which originally came from the Philippines, as they are instrumental in motivating and supporting him to push beyond boundaries in achieving success.
To date, John has collaborated with such artists as Diddy, Jacquees, Eric Bellinger, and Mozzy to mention a few.
“FYS” is inspired by what John sees on his social media timeline where astrology and horoscopes dictate the compatibility of two people in almost any form of relationship.
“I decided to write a song about just going off the vibe and taking it by how it is rather than expecting or pre-judging,” says John.
“At the end of the day I respect it, but personally if I went off horoscopes regarding any of my relationships, I feel like I wouldn’t be where I am today with the people I’m around and the relationships I’m heavily grateful for. ‘FYS’ is more directed towards love though.”
John also reveals that he feels great about “FYS” because of its fun vibe that’s really centered on a very light topic and that he plans to visit the Philippines soon to thank his homeland for its solid support.
“The fans love the music that I release. They always tell me I don’t miss. I think what’s dope about my fans is that they’re very supportive and they show it. The loyalty is crazy! I do my best to engage and connect with them as much as I could because they’re the reason for all of this. I hope to keep inspiring and sharing positive energy all around when it comes to them,” says John.
