ROB GOMEZ was introduced last year in the streaming movie, “A Girl + A Boy”, but it failed to make waves because of its bewildering storytelling.
It’s good he is with Regal so he was featured in an episode of “Regal Studio Presents” on GMA-7 with Kim Domingo and, now, he is one of the leading men of Barbie Forteza, who plays Steffy, in the ongoing hit primetime series co-production of GMA and Regal, “Mano Po Legacy: The Family Fortune”.
Rob is the son of former actress Kate Gomez, daughter of the late George Estregan. Gary Estrada is his uncle. His role as Joseph, the illegitimate son in “Mano Po Legacy” is turning out to be a big break out role for him. His performance is getting good reviews and a lot of viewers have really noticed him.
Some fans are even rooting for him to be Barbie’s chosen partner when the show ends later this month. His rival over Barbie’s affection is his own half brother, Anton, as played by David Licauco.
It seems he now has an edge in Barbie’s heart because Barbie as Steffy invited him to join her family as they celebrate her mother’s birthday, where Anton was not invited. What can he say about this?
“Sobrang nagpapasalamat po ako sa suporta ng viewers sa aming show,” says Rob. “And I’m glad nagki-click din sa kanila ang love triangle namin nina Barbie and David. Napakalaking blessing po talaga for me ang show na ito.
"Mas nakilala ako ng publiko bilang si Joseph at mas dumami ang followers ko sa social media. This is a sure indication na nagki-click po talaga ang ‘Mano Po Legacy’ sa audiences natin.”
He says working with the top actresses in the show like Boots Anson Roa, Sunshine Cruz and Maricel Laxa was a great experience for someone new in the business like him.
“Puro sila magagaling and I’m really enjoying working with them, special in the dramatic scenes, kasi I learn so much from them.
"Ganun din po kay Barbie Forteza na matagal na rin sa acting kaya mas malawak ang experience niya kaysa sa akin and she’s very generous in sharing her knowledge of the craft with me.”
Starting this Monday, February 7, “Mano Po Legacy” will be transferred to an earlier time slot, 8:50 PM, replacing the drama series of Dingdong Dantes, “AlterNate”, that will have its last telecast this Friday night.
“So huwag nyo pong kaligtaan, mas maaga na papasok sa ere ang ‘Mano Po Legacy’ and don’t miss the coming episodes kasi mas paganda nang paganda ang takbo ng kuwento at marami kaming mga pasabog na eksena,” adds Rob.
