JILLIAN WARD was only 4 years old when she joined “Little Miss Philippines” in “Eat Bulaga” in 2009.
Then GMA-7 got her to be a child actress in “The Last Prince” and later to play the title role of “Trudis Liit”.
We saw her growing up before our eyes as she never experienced the so-called awkward stage. She was acting all throughout and now she plays one of the leads in “Prima Donnas” which is now on Season 2.
In the special zoom presscon GMA held for the show, Jillian says she and her co-stars, Althea Ablan and Sofia Pablo, are now much closer to each other along with the other members of the cast.
“We now have greater camaraderie after the second lock in taping namin,” she says.
“Almost three years na kaming magkakasama and I’d say nag improve ang communication skills namin. Before we were quite childish, but ngayon, sabay- sabay kaming nagdadalaga.”
Recently, a video showing her having a fight with their regular villain, Elijah Alejo, became viral and many people thought they’re really fighting.
“Prank lang po yun,” she says.
“Ako pa nga ang nagsasabi sa kanya kung anong dapat niyang sabihin sa akin para magmukhang nasasaktan talaga ako at nang maniwala ang mga tao. Well, it worked naman, but in real life, never kaming nag-aaway sa taping. Sa harap lang ng camera.”
As Mayi, the eldest of the Donnas, she is now given a love interest and it’s not just one but two.
“Yes, may love triangle po kami nina Will Ashley and Vince Crisostomo as Nolan and Cedric,” she says. “Pinag-aawayan nila ako at aabot sila sa pisikalan.”
The fight scene of the boys is something “Prima Donnas” regular viewers should watch out for.
“Yes, madugo po ang away namin,” says Will. “Talagang duguan kami dahil kay Mayi.”
“Pero ang mas dapat nyong abangan,” says Vince, “ay kung sino ba ang makakakuha sa puso ni Mayi.”
Will also started as a child actor on GMA-7 playing kiddie roles in “Villa Quintana” and “Nino” in 2013.
As a teenager, he was part of such soaps as “Destined to Be Yours” and “Contessa”.
Vince was discovered by GMA in 2018 and he was given a good role in “Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko”. “Prima Donnas 2” is his biggest break so far.
He and Will are both 19 years old.
