RHIAN RAMOS is back in a teleserye in GMA Afternoon Prime’s legal crime-drama, “Artikulo 247”, that starts airing this Monday, March 7. She plays the lead role of Jane Ortega.
“I love my role as a young career woman who made the mistake of falling in love with a married man, Victor Silayan as Alfred,” she says. “Akala ko, hiwalay na sila ng wife niyang si Claire as portrayed by Kris Bernal.
"It turns out gustong makipagbalikan nito sa kanya but ayaw na ni Victor kasi si Kris ang unang nangaliwa. The love triangle sa aming tatlo becomes very complicated and messy, ending up in murder.”
Kris attacks Rhian but Victor intervenes and it's him who she gets to stab and kill.
For this, she’s sentenced to prison but she invokes Artikulo 247 of the revised penal code, which says anyone who kills or harm his or her spouse who’s caughter cheating cannot be imprisoned but just punished by destierro or exile to another place.
Rhian then meets Benjamin Alves as Noah Borromeo, who is heartbroken as his girlfriend just died. They become close as they console each other.
Rhian later meets Ben’s brother, Mike Herras as Elijah, and she is so shocked when she meets Mike’s girlfriend, Kris who now sports a new identity and a new name, Carmen.
“It’s very difficult and challenging but I learned a lot from this show. Very mature ang role ko. May love scenes ako with both Victor and Benjamin.
"Maingat ang staff kasi we have to gargle antiseptic mouthwash to make sure we’re safe to do kissing scenes. Okay naman, kasi lahat kami, naka-bubble, so very safe for us.”
She and Kris has many fight scenes.
“Yes, very demanding scenes yung mga away namin ni Kris Bernal that is very physical at nagkasakitan talaga kami. But it can’t be helped kasi ayaw naming dayain and after each scene, we quickly check on each other and say sorry.
"Challenging din ang taping kasi it’s during the pandemic at lock in taping siya. Bale dalawang beses kaming nag-lock in taping.”
The show is directed by Jorron Lee Monroy who Rhian had worked with before in “Truly Madly Deeply” in “I Can See You”, where she played the role of a killer that is now the role of Kris Bernal in “Artikulo 247”.
The show has a huge supporting cast led by Mike Tan playing Kris Bernal’s lover and partner in crime, Julian.
Also in the cast are Carla Martinez as the mother of Ben and Mark, Isadora as Carla’s best friend, Rain Matienzo and Maureen Larrazabal as friends of Rhian, Victor Silayan as Kris’s husband Alfred, Denise Barbacena as Kris’ right hand woman, Brent Valdez as bartender Jigs and Topper Fabregas as Jane’s lawyer.
