MAJA SALVADOR feels so honored with the title TV5 & Cignal Entertainment have given her: the Majestic Superstar.
They hosted a combined solo zoom and live presscon just for her as she signs a new contract with them, attended by TV Pres.-CEO Robert Galang, her boyfriend and Crown Artist Management CEO Rambo Ortega and their COO Mikki Gonzalez.
Her new contract coincides with the first anniversary celebration of her hit TV5 inspirational show, “Nino Nina”. Now, TV5 has lined up several new projects for her.
“I feel so honored and excited sa bagong projects ko,” she says. “After 19 years in showbiz, I still have so much to be thankful for.”
Her first new project is a sitcom.
“This is a concept from Rambo. We presented it to TV5 at nagustuhan naman nila. This will be line produced by our own Crown Artist Management at malaking project ito. We intend to air it sa third quarter of the year.”
It’s a new adventure for her.
“Kasi mas mahirap magpatawa. Kung aarte ako, mas gusto kong umiyak, kasi sa comedy, kailangang you have a real good sense of humor. Dapat you also have good timing at kailangang mabilis ang utak mo sa repartees kaya mas mahirap magpatawa.”
She will also have a new teleserye.
“It will be from the same team of ‘Nino Nina’, led by Direk Toph Nazareno. Sobrang excited ako with this kasi mentally, emotionally, and physically, kailangang fully prepared ako.
"I will play a performer na hindi basta-bastang performer. As to what kind of performer, abangan nyo na lang kasi bawal pang i-reveal.
"But I will really need to undergo a lot of training as the role is very demanding and this will be a very big project intended for the 4th quarter this year.
"I will have two leading men na hindi pa rin puedeng i-reveal kung sino, but yung isa, nai-guest na namin sa ‘Nino Nina’.
"Then hopefully, before the year is over, may balak kami to do a new movie in partnership with Cignal and TV5. Ang ganda talaga kasi ng working relationship namin with them. Magaan talaga.”
And she’s still appearing in “Eat Bulaga” on GMA-7. She seems so dreadfully busy. how does she handle it?
“I don’t know how i juggle everything, but nangyayari naman, nagagawa ko, sa awa ni Lord. Siguro because we have a good team at nagtutulungan talaga kami.
"Iba rin kasi ang pagmamahal ko sa trabaho and I really love what I do. Very thankful din ako kasi, lahat mga nakapaligid sa’kin, they’re all very supportive.”
The most supportive being her partner, Rambo.
“Yes, si rambo is very supportive. Kahit saang bulubundukin ako nagte-taping, nadadalaw niya ako sa location.”
Rambo is asked about his feelings for Maja.
“I’m so happy for her success. She deserves it because of her sipag and her dedication. You can expect her to be successful in everything she does because she puts all her heart and soul into it.
"She also has a good relationship with everyone. My support for her is I’m like her fan who is just here to support her in everything she does.”
And Maja adds: “We’re a perfect combination. We’re both hardworking. He knows my dreams and aspirations.
"Nagkahiwalay na kami before, then nagkabalikan and now, alam na namin ang gusto namin sa buhay, and we are just here para laging magmahalan at magsuportahan lagi.”
Do we hear wedding bells ringing for them soon?
“Hindi po namin alam. Kasi kung darating po yan, basta darating. Kung mangyayari yan, mangyayari.
"At kung mangyayari nga, don’t worry kasi ever since, hindi naman namin ipinagdaramot ni Rambo ang story namin sa inyo. Basta when the right time comes, ipagdasal po natin yan.”
As “Nino Nina” celebrates its first anniversary, why does she think it clicked with viewers?
“Nabasa ko pa lang ang script noon, I know people will like it kasi it offers hope and inspiration, lalo na during the pandemic.
"Hindi lang puro drama, may comedy pa, nababalanse niya. Kakapit ka rin sa characters dahil totoong-totoo sila at makaka-relate talaga ang viewers.
"Bawat character, may kuwentong pinagdaraanan, lahat may time to shine. Huwag po kayong bibitaw sa susunod na episodes kasi magpo-focus po ito sa akin as Nina.
"Matindi kasi ang sakit ng loob at damdaming dinadala niya para sa mommy niya (played by Lilet). She’s a jolly person, pero hindi niya hinaharap what she feels for her estranged mom kaya abangan nyo how this will be resolved.”
