ANGELI KHANG, QUEEN OF STREAMING FILMS ON VIVAMAX, REVEALS SHE WAS A BATTERED CHILD

BECAUSE OF THE pandemic, we now have an entire crop of new stars who have yet to be seen on the big screen on a regular theatre.

They maybe called Streaming Stars as their movies since the pandemic started are shown on streaming channels, mainly, Vivamax.

These stars include bombshells AJ Raval, Cindy Miranda, Rhen Escano, Jela Cuenca, Angela Morena, Rob Guinto, Stefanie Raz, Denise Esteban, and others.

But considered their current queen now is Angeli Khang. Her films like “Taya”, “Mahjong Nights” and “Eva” are all weekly topnotchers on Vivamax, with one movie, “Silip sa Apoy”, managing to remain in the list of top ten movies for several months now.

“Silip sa Apoy” was shown in January yet and now, after five months, the ardent fans of Angeli who have been missing her luscious body can now see again in “Pusoy”, a sex-action drama that starts streaming on May 27.

What’s her role in the movie?

“Ako yung bagong babae ni Baron Geisler, isang gambling lord,” she says.

“Sa pagdating ko, mai-insecure yung dati niyang lover, si Janelle Tee. Tapos, magugustuhan ako ng bodyguard ni Baron na si Vince Rillon, and I will reciprocate him, so doon magkakaroon ng malaking conflict sa story.

"This is written and directed by an Italian-American filmmaker, Phil Giordano. Naiiba siya so don’t miss it sa Vivamax when it starts streaming on May 27.”

Angeli has a Pinay mom and a Korean dad. She has revealed then she’s a battered child because her dad used to physically hurt her.

In the presscon of “Pusoy”, she said her mom has actually filed a formal case of physical abuse against her dad, who’s now in Saipan as a successful businessman.

“If ever he’d set foot in the Philippines, he will be arrested,” she says.

“Noong nasa grade school, pumapasok ako sa school na black and blue.  May death wish ako dahil sa pananakit sa akin.

"When people ask me about him, nagkakaroon ako ng anxiety attack so I was brought to a psychiatrist to sort out my feelings and I realized it’s not normal for a girl to fantasize about dying.”

Boss Vic del Rosario is aware of her situation because when she was shooting “Mahjong Nights”, where she played a girl abused by her stepdad played by Jay Manalo, she kept on crying while shooting the film.

"Boss Vic told me to just make use of my past sad experiences para may mapaghuhugutan ako when I’m doing dramatic scenes.

"I’ve learned to accept what happened to me as a child, but I believe na dapat panagutan niya ang mga ginawa niya sa akin at pati na rin sa brother ko.”
