SEN. BONG REVILLA wants to thank all the loyal viewers of “Agimat ng Agila, Season 2”, a fantasy-action adventure saga which is a big hit on Saturday nights, just like Season 1, so we have no doubt there will be a Season 3.
Season 2 started in January and now, after 13 weeks, it’s about to end this Saturday and the suspenseful, action-packed final episode will surely make its followers crave for more exciting adventures.
In “Agimat ng Agila, Season 2”, Bong plays the hero, Gabriel Labrador of Task Force Kalikasan, protector of our environment against evildoers who want to abuse and exploit Mother Earth.
In Season 1, Bong had to look for the “talisman ng dragon”. In Season 2, it is about Bong’s search for the “talisman ng agila” that has the power to make people sick and instantly get old.
It introduced new characters like beauty queen Rabiya Mateo in her first acting role as Bong’s new leading lady Agent Asha Raj, Gardo Versoza as the rich tycoon Zeus Limjoco who is behind an evil organization, Betong Sumaya as Sgt. Art de Mesa,
Kim de Leon as Jumong, Lia Salvador as Sharmaine, Allan Paule as Mang Simo, Sharmaine Santiago as Carol, MJ Lastimosa as Rosebud who turns into the evil Garote and Rafael Rosell as Valerio.
“Gusto ko pong personal na pasalamatan lahat ng viewers na nanonood ng ‘Agimat ng Agila’ tuwing Sabado, lalo na yung nagme-message sa akin sa social media na talagang kinasasabikan nila ang bawat episode nito,” Bong says.
“Pinaghirapan po namin talaga ang pagbubuo ng buong show to make sure masisiyahan kayo. Huwag kayong bibitaw dahil ang finale episode po nami’y puno ng maraming pasabog. And with your support, siguro, magkakaroon pa kami ng Season 3.”
What makes “Agimat ng Agila” endearing to the viewers is that it is not the usual run-of-the-mill TV production.
The action and fantasy scenes are conceived and staged like in big movies and GMA Network obviously spent a lot and left no stone unturned to make sure the whole show is something they can all be proud of in scope and execution.
The acting is also uniformly good and this should open doors for Rabiya to get more future acting assignments.
It’s also apparent that they are expanding their “Agimat ng Aguila” universe with Bong as the lead character who is cultivating his own origins and mythology as a superhero.
The future is open to a lot of possibilities on how they can further make the series more interesting to keep its viewers continuously glued in all the upcoming seasons of the show. "Agimat ng Agila" will be replaced by the new sitcom "Jose at Maria" with Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera.
