HOW POPS FERNANDEZ & THE HITMAKERS WERE ADVERSELY AFFECTED BY THE PANDEMIC

THE TWO-YEAR covid pandemic no doubt affected everyone.

We ask Concert Queen Pops Fernandez and her co-singers in the concert tour, “Four Kings & A Queen”, Kilabot ng mga Kolehiyala Hajji Alejandro, Romantic Pop Icon Marco Sison, Prince of Pop Ballads Nonoy Zuniga and Hitmaker Singer-Songwriter Rey Valera, as to how the virus personally affected them.

“The pandemic was a shocker for all of us,” says Pops.

“Affected tayong lahat. I took it as a time to reflect about life, why it happened and ang buong mundo, apektado. Now, I’m glad it’s over at sana huwag na siya bumalik pa.”

“I took it as a chance to spend more time with my family,” says Hajji. “Tatlo na ang apo ko, e. My daughter Barbie has one and my son Ali has two. Si Rachel lang ang walang baby.

"Because of the pandemic, I was able to record a new song, ‘Dati’, which is perfect for looking back at our life then and appreciating the things we just took for granted. It’s now available for download on Spotify and other outlets.”

“During the pandemic, I was just staying sa probinsiya namin sa Laguna,” says Marco.

“I had time in my hands at walang galawan, so nagtinda ako ng barbecue. Namigay rin ako sa frontliners at ang daming nag-sponsor sa’kin, pati concert producers sa America.

"But now, isinara ko na rin kasi napakahirap dahil ako mismo ang nagka-cut ng baboy, nagtutusok sa stick, tapos ako pa yung nag-iihaw. Masakit pala sa kamay. But dahil doon, andami kong nakilalang mga kababayan ko, lalo na yung mga millennial. So nag-enjoy rin naman ako selling barbecue.”

“It’s a good thing natapos na ang pandemic kasi kaming singers, walang work, walang booking,” says Nonoy.

“So yung naiipon ko, nababawasan. But now, sana tuloy-tuloy ng back to normal tayo para mas dumami pa ang concerts namin like itong ‘Four Kings & a Queen’.”

“I’m an introvert so okay lang sa’kin when I’m alone at nasa bahay lang ako,” says Rey Valera.

“But habang walang work, nag-aral ako through my computer. I learned to arrange music and do mixing sa computer ko. I also wrote a book, ‘The Rey Valera Story, Kahit Maputi na ang Buhok Ko’, so abangan nyo.”

The “Four Kings & a Queen” US concert tour is produced by Amore Entertainment of Ms. Pia Legaspi and will start at the Northern California Graton Bay Area Resort & Casino on June 25,  Saban Theater at Beverly Hills on June 26, Sahara Event Center at Las Vegas on July 1,
