JAK ROBERTO ON WORKING WITH KYLIE PADILLA & RAYVER CRUZ IN NEW PRIMETIME SERIES, 'BOLERA', THAT STARTS AIRING THIS MONDAY

JAK ROBERTO is happy to be part of the new GMA sports-drama series, “Bolera”, which will be shown on primetime replacing “False Positive” starting this Monday.

His last teleserye was the afternoon drama with Klea Pineda, “Never Say Goodbye”.

So what is his role in “Bolera”?

“Ako yung best friend ni Kylie Padilla since childhood at nung lumaban na siya sa billiards, ako ang tumayong manager niya,” he says.

“May lihim akong pagtingin sa kanya but hindi ko mai-express ang feelings ko. Tapos pumasok si Rayver Cruz at siempre, nagselos ako.”

And how is it working with Rayver and Kylie?

“Chill-chill lang kami sa taping. It’s my first time to work with them in a drama series.

"Si Rayver, nakakasama kong kumanta sa ‘All Out Sundays’, so more or less, magkakilala na kami. Wala kaming naging problema. Si Kylie naman, nakasama ko before sa GMA acting workshops, but this is the first time we’re acting together.”

He says Rayver really surprised him.

“Kasi nga sa kantahan lang kami nagkakasama, so nagulat ako sa kakayahan niya sa pag-arte. Before the take, nagjo-joke pa siya, tawa lang nang tawa.

"Pero kapag nakaharap na kayo sa kamera, he transforms. Nakakakilabot ang galing niya.”

How about Kylie?

“Noong una, akala ko, masyado siyang serious, but we opened up to each other at madali naman kaming nakapag-adjust sa isa’t isa.

"As a co-actor, very open siya on how to do a scene, so natitimpla namin nang maayos kung paano namin gagawin ang aming mga eksena.”

Another reason he enjoyed doing the lock in taping of the show in Pampanga is he got to work with the much awarded actress, Jaclyn Jose, who plays Kylie’s mother.

“I really got excited working with Tita Jane as I know how good she is. Sabi ko nga sa kanya, gusto kong mag-workshop sa kanya, to learn how to be so relaxed in doing my scenes.

"She’s very generous naman at tinutulungan niya ako talaga. Actually, everyone was cooperative sa show na ito including Al Tantay as Kylie’s dad, Joey Marquez as the man who betrayed Tito Al and Gardo Versoza as Kylie’s rival, si Kubrador.

"We really had very good teamwork with our directors, Dominic Zapata and Jorron Monroy.”

He also got hooked in playing billiards in real life.

“After ‘Bolera’ kasi, I also starred in ‘Magpakailanman’ in the story of a real life billiard champion. Kaya nag-enjoy ako and I will continue to play billiards.

"I really appreciated all the techniques na itinuro ng coaches namin on how to play well. Balak ko nga ngayong bumili ng billiard table para makapaglaro ako sa bahay namin.”
