VIVAMAX IS introducing yet another new bombshell in “Doblado” that has started streaming on Friday, May 6. This is Katrina Dovey, a balikbayan from the United Kingdom.
“I was born and raised here kaya magaling akong mag-Tagalog,” she says.
“I finished business administration then I went to the U.K to work in real estate. But I had to come back here in October of 2021 kasi my mom and my grandma are here. I first went into modeling before joining Viva.”
How was she discovered?
“I was having dinner with my best friend. Mother niya si Lara Morena. It so happened that she saw me and asked me if I’d want to try acting.
"I said yes and she brought me to Viva and isinama nila ako sa cast ng ‘Adarna Gang’. I played one of the girls of Diego Loyzaga.”
And now, she plays a bigger role in “Doblado”.
“Yes, I play Pink Panther, isa sa mga alagang call girls ni Gwen Garci, our mamasan.”
Didn’t she have second thoughts playing a high school prostitute?
“None, as I’ve always been a sexually empowered woman and we were born naked, so bakit may malisya ang showing of naked bodies?”
Didn’t she find it hard doing sexy scenes?
“No. Maraming scenes na hot and steamy kaya dapat talaga nilang abangan. I just have to use my own sexual energy to do them.
"Actually, mas nahirapan ako doon sa bathtub scene na papatayin ako. Tapos nilagyan ako ng fake blood na syrup at pumasok yun sa ilong ko. Masakit.”
“Doblado” is the story of a call girl who leads a double life as a student by day and prostie at night, as played by Denise Esteban. She and Denise play good friends in the story. How is it working with her?
“Denise and I took the same acting workshops before sa Viva when we started and since then tuloy-tuloy na ang friendship namin and we have become super close.
"We’re now together again doing lock in taping in the series, ‘High on Sex’, directed by GB Sampedro, who’s also our director in ‘Doblado’.”
So how did she prepare for her sexy scenes?
“For me, all you have to do is just do your best in every scene. Give everything you have, so you’d have no regrets at the end of the day.
"E, itong ‘Doblado’, ang ganda ng kuwento, ang ganda ng cinematography, so I’m proud be part of this movie.”
Are there instances in life where she becomes “Doblado”, not showing who she really is?
“Ay wala, I don’t have a double life. I’m the same one with everyone. What you see is what you get.
"Usually, I’m a very calm and relaxed person.”
How did her folks accept her going sexy?
“My mom was against it. Naiilang siya na maghuhubad ako. But now she’s very supportive kasi she knows i love what i’m doing.”
If ever she’d have a boyfriend who turns out to be a sex worker, what would she do?
“At this point, ayoko talaga magka-boyfriend kasi focused muna ako sa career ko that is just starting.
"But if ever, siguro I will just support him. O kahit sino pang maging boyfriend ko, I’ll support them sa kahit anong gusto nila gawin kasi you should always be supportive to your partner.”
Does she have any limitations in doing sexy scenes?
“Wala akong limitations. I’m just ready to do anything para sa ikagaganda ng pelikula.
"In doing a sexy scene, we study the choreography beforehand kasi lahat naman sa eksena, planado na ng director. We just follow it para hindi mahirap ang execution.”
What is her difference from other Viva sexy stars?
“Ako lang po ang nag-iisang Katrina Dovey sa buong mundo.”
