ARRON VILLAFLOR celebrated his birthday on July 5 and he considers Viva’s getting him to sign up a contract with them as his best gift.
He was discovered in the Star Circle Quest when he was a teenager in 2004 and did a lot of soaps where he played mostly supporting roles.
On the big screen, he is best known for his role as a young journalist who appears in the acclaimed historical dramas, “Heneral Luna” and “Heneral Goyo”.
He has won a best supporting actor award for the Cinema One Original film, “Mamu and a Mother Too”, and on TV, for “Ang Probinsyano”.
What made him move to Viva?
“I was with Star Magic from 2004 to 2018, then I moved to Cornerstone but the pandemic came and I didn’t work for two years,” he says.
“Buti nga dumating ang offer ng Viva to do the series ‘Wag Mong Agawin ang Akin’.
"A new door opened for me and I’m happy and excited to be working with Viva. Now, they’re offered to manage me sa Viva Artist Agency and they’re very collaborative about their plans for me.
"Madame Veronique del Rosario said matagal na niya akong gustong kunin but they don’t know how to contact me.”
What is his role in “Wag Mong Agawin”?
“I’m the son of a rich businessman. Tapos I have a relationship with Angeli Khang na empleyado namin then with Jamilla Obispo na kabit ng father ko, without knowing mag-ina pala sila. I have bed scenes with both of them.”
So how is it working with Angeli and Jamilla?
“First time ko to work with them. Si Angeli, napakabait. Magaan katrabaho. Si Jamilla naman, kilala ko noon sa ABS, but first time din namin to work.
"Sa love scenes, I always ask them muna kunsaan sila comfortable at kunsaan sila naiilang. It’s a good thing both Jam and Angeli are both very professional. Iba ang naging chemistry namin and l want to work with them again.”
How about Direk Mac Alejandre?
“First time ko rin with Direk Mac and I’m very happy kasi masaya siya sa set. Kumakanta siya para kahit pagod na ang lahat, mawala ang tension. I learned so much from him.
"But ‘Wag Mong Akin’, maganda story and it’s not just all skin. May matutuhan din ang viewers, so I’m very happy with this project.”
Has he seen Vivamax movies and is he ready to do what the other actors there are doing?
“Yes, I’ve seen them and yes, kinakabahan ako kasi bagong mundo ito, but basta kailangan ng story, kung kailangang nakahubad, I’m ready to do it.
"Basta huwag lang frontal, hindi ko kaya. And also, no Boys Love stories kasi I won’t be comfortable doing them.”
Who among the current Viva sexy stars he’d like to work with?
“I’m willing to work with anyone basta maganda ang story. I’d like to work again with Jamilla and Angeli kasi I enjoyed working with them, also Christine Bermas.
"Actually, I’m excited to work with all of the Viva sexy stars. Much better kung makatrabaho ko silang lahat.
"I promise to give them all the respect and importance they deserve. I also want to work with Anne Curtis and Bela Padilla.”
So what’s next for him with Viva?
“This August, I will start a new series and then after that, may movie rin. I
"’m also starting to write scripts and I can offer it to them kahit hindi ako ang artista. Baka pumatok sa kanilang platforms.
"Ang daming opportunities dito sa viva and ayokong mabakante I’m not getting any younger, so I just want to work and work.”
So how is his non-showbiz girlfriend named Camille taking his going sexy?
"She's very supportive. Basta para sa trabaho, okay lang sa kanya. Go go go!"
