JOSEF ELIZALDE played his first lead role in “Doblado”, where he turned out to be a psychotic killer who killed several people.
He thought it’s already his most challenging role to date, but now comes “Purificacion”, where he plays an even more demanding character, the title role of the young priest named Fr. Ricardo Purificacion.
He is assigned to be the parish priest in a rural town, Santa Monica.
Since he is a young and good-looking priest, young women flock to him, trusting him easily and with some of them even trying to seduce him.
What they don’t know is that his kind and harmless appearance can be deceiving.
When sexy young women suddenly disappear in their town, no one would ever think that the priest himself could be a suspect.
“Fr. Purificacion is a very mysterious character and it was a great challenge for me to play him,” says Josef.
“Nilagyan ko ng sariling nuances yung character.
"I watched some psychological thrillers to get a feel of how other actors interpret such nefarious characters with dark motivations.”
The sexy Vivamax nymphets who become willing victims of his dangerous charms are Cara Gonzales, Ava Mendez, Rob Guinto, Kat Dovey, Stephanie Raz and Quinn Carillo. So who turned him on the most?
“Lahat naman sila, very sexy at nakakaelya ang dating,” he says.
“At lahat sila, magaling. When I saw the trailer, I felt some goosebumps kasi ang gandang lumabas ng mga eksena namin, thanks to Director GB Sampedro who guided us all through it.”
He said he made one big sacrifice for his role.
“I realized mahirap talaga ang tungkulin ng mga pari. Siempre, as priest, kailangan, clean cut ang hitsura ko.
"So I had to lose my long hair and I also shaved all my facial hair. Nakakapanibago nga, e.”
In all fairness to him, he looks better with his short hair and cleanly shaven looks.
