‘HIGH ON SEX’ is a Vivamas sex comedy about the coming of five high school students and their sexual escapades through their years in a Catholic high school.
These are Denise Esteban as Issa, Angela Morena as Mavic, Kat Dovey as Karla, Migs Almendras as Wes and Wilbert Ross as Gibo.
The show started airing on June 5 and is now on its last three Sundays.
Vivamax hosted a special presscon for some cast members before the show finally ends on July 24.
It’s easy to see that they really enjoyed doing the show together, but how did they prepare for their respective roles?
It’s Kat Dovey who replies: “Prior to the shoot, we had face to face worksops that made us understand our roles better and it also helped for us to get to know each other better so when we got to the actual set, wala na kaming ilangan and we just had fun.”
How different is the show from those they’ve done before and what’s in store for the viewers in the last few episodes?
“The ones I did before are serious dramas so this is a welcome break as it is a comedy,” says Denise Esteban.
"Very encouraging nga and comments na natatanggap namin as viewers say they’re really laughing a lot and having fun while watching our show.
"Marami pa kayong dapat na abangan sa last few episodes, lalo na kung ano ang mangyayari sa love story namin ni Wilbert as Gibo.”
“Don’t miss the last episodes kasi you’ll get to know the characters even better,” says Kat.
“The show doesn’t just offer many sexy scenes but also insights about love and life and being young, so don’t miss the wonderful finale.
"I think it’s in this show ko nakita na may improvement naman ako sa acting compared to when I just started in ‘Doblado’, but I still have to do better with my Tagalog kasi mas at home pa rin ako in English.”
Denise adds that she really enjoyed doing “High on Sex” as her first series.
“I really enjoyed the shoot kahit nakakapagod kasi we shoot so many sequences in one day, but masaya ang naging bonding naming lahat, kasi i even celebrated my birthday on the set.
"It’s in this show that I think my acting has improved since I started in ‘Kaliwaan’.
"Marami akong natutuhan sa mga pinagdaanan kong ibang projects and I think nagawa ko ang best ko rito sa ‘High on Sex’ in my role as Issa na may gusto ko kay Gibo but he’s taking me for granted.”
How about Angela Morena? Did she like her role as Mavic?
“Yes, although noong una, natakot ako kasi mabigat ang pagdaraanan niya. But si Mavic, very kwela siya and energetic, so I;m glad sakin ibinigay sa akin ang role na ito.
"Now, I’m glad kasi positive ang comments ng viewers about my character. In the last few episodes, abangan nyo ang breakdown scene ni Mavic at ang pagpasok niya sa isang school org.
"I’m proud of my acting kasi very natural lang. Tama nga yung sinabi nila na bagay sa akin ang sex-comedy.
"I will really miss my character kasi i enjoyed playing her. Abangan nyo, kasi mas exciting and kapanapanabik ang ipapakitang mangyayari sa iba’t iba pang characters sa show as it ends.”
