THE COMEDY act Beks Battalion will have their first live concert, “Beks 2 Beks 2 Beks”, at the New Frontier Theatre on Friday, August 26.
They had an online concert before, “Beksinated”, a hit, but this time, they will have their first live performance, so they promise to have fresh and new comic acts that they themselves conceived and wrote.
The trio is composed of Lassy, MC Muah and Chad Kinis and they will be performing as a trio and also as solo acts.
They also have very special guests from the live entertainment circuit like Ate Gay, Divine Tetay and Tonton Soriano, singers Bugoy Drilon, Darryl Ong, Michael Pangilinan and Katrina Velarde, internet sensations Zeinab Harake and Jelai Andres, Buboy Villar and the Unkabogable Vice Ganda.
Lassy, MC and Chad have been friends for years and they’re living together. Did they never have any fight at all?
“Nagkakagalit din naman kami kasi siempre, iba-iba ang utak namin,” says MC.
“We have our own moods, pero never dumating sa point na mag-aaway kami’t maghihiwalay. Ako, ang ikinaiinis ko lagi, kapag makalat sila sa bahay.”
“May usapan kaming bawal maghiwalay,” says Chad. “Kapag nagtatalo kami at sobrang init na, we’d say, rest muna tayo, magpalamig sa aircon.
"Then later, naaayos naman at okay na kami uli. But it happens once in a blue moon lang. Parang pamilya na rin kasi kami.”
The title of their concert, “Beks 2 Beks 2 Beks”, is actually a spoof of the term “back-to-back-to-back” which literally means a continuous, non-stop series of segmented performances.
Having “Beks 2 Beks 2 Beks” as the concert title, one can expect a non-stop, seamless series of comedic and musical numbers one after another.
