WHY RHEN ESCANO BECAME EMOTIONAL & CRIED AT THE PRESSCON OF VIVAMAX SERIES 'SECRETS OF A NYMPHO'

RHEN ESCANO became emotional when asked at the zoom presscon of “Secrets of a Nympho”, an 8-episode series, as to why she seldom appears in Vivamax releases, unlike some of the other Viva sexpots who seem to have a new movie every other week.

“Pinipili ko talaga kasi ang projects na ginagawa ko,” she says. “Ayoko ng umuulit, doing the same material. I want viewers to see na iba-iba ang ginagawa ko at hindi yung parang nakakahon lang ako.”

It was at this point that her voice broke, obviously unhappy that she’s doing nothing but films that require her to disrobe in front of the camera.

“Sana mabigyan naman ako ng chance na makita ng tao na may iba akong talent na puede kong gawin,” she adds.

“My career is so important for me, so I want to make sure na may positive na mangyari dito. Lahat ng networks, napagdaanan ko na.

"Umabot nga sa point na ayoko na. Nagiging emotional ako kapag pinanghihinaan ako ng loob kasi I really want to prove myself as an actress.”

What are her dream roles?

“Lagi kong sinasabi na gusto ko yung parang ‘Gone Girl’, very challenging yung scheming character played by Rosamund Pike kasi she framed up her own husband, si Ben Affleck.

"Feel ko gawin yung ganung material, kaya tinanggap ko itong series na ito, ‘Secrets of a Nympho’, kasi ganitong type ang gusto kong gawin. I really want to grow as an actor.”

“Secrets of a Nympho” is written by Philip Neri and directed by Shugo Praico of Rein Entertainment who did the award-winning “Bagman” and the lesbian love story,

“Betcin”. They’ve also just finished a new movie, “Nananahimik ang Gabi”, which is an official entry in the coming Metro Manila Filmfest this December.

The story is set in the fictional town of San Lucas and its university with a prominent law school, Potenciana University, which has been on top offering high quality education for more than 50 years. But then, a heinous crime happens inside the campus during their annual bonfire.

While the students are drinking and partying, the top campus jock, Brian (Arron Villaflor), falls from the rooftop of a tall building.

The authorities also discover the unconscious body of the campus crush, Hannah (Ayanna Misola). All the evidence say that Brian raped and attempted to kill Hannah then ended his own life out of guilt.

However, a student of Potenciana believes that something is not right in the narrative because she knows Brian cannot do evil things like this.

This is Rhen Escaño, who plays Gab, an outcast student because she does not come from a wealthy family like the other students.

She claims to know the real Brian well and in order to prove his innocence, she must lie, cheat and seduce her way into the underbelly of this prestigious university in her desire to expose the truth and find the real culprit.

Seven students are summoned for investigation, along with the Guidance Counselor, Ms. Arceo (Sheree), while Hannah is still in coma.

Chloe (Andrea Garcia) was the first student who saw Brian falling from the rooftop. Sam (Milana Ikimoto) and Molly (Tiffany), Hannah’s closest friends, said they were busy partying and didn’t see anything.

Ms. Arceo says she heard Hannah screamed for help. Brian’s closest friends are Josef Elizalde as Marlon and Gold Aceron as Emerson. They give their individual alibis on the night of the crime.

Gab does her own personal investigation. As she digs deeper into the case, she begins to uncover the dark secrets of Brian’s inner circle, who are involved in sex parties, drugs and gambling.

Marcial (Jeric Raval), Gab’s father who is an ex-journalist wants her to stop the investigation for he knows what the rich can do to turn their lies into truths, but Gab is deadset in bringing out all their dark secrets – including Hannah’s.

What deep dark secrets will she uncover? The show is slated for showing on the last quarter of 2022.
