JILLIAN WARD is paired with two young men in her GMA Afternoon Prime Series, “Abot Kamay na Pangarap”: the comebacking Andre Paras and new Sparkle artist Jeff Moses.
It will be recalled that Andre left showbiz to focus on being a professional basketball player and he played with Blackwater for a while.
But now, he says he missed showbiz so he is back into acting. What’s his role in “Abot Kamay na Pangarap”?
“I play Dr. Luke Antonio, a young neurosurgeon in the hospital where Jillian Ward as Analyn works as a young genius doctor,” he says.
“May mga mang-aapi sa kanya sa hospital, isa na yung half sister niya na anak ni Richard Yap, her biological dad in the story. Ako yung magiging parang Kuya niya na magiging kakampi niya and who will help train her.
"I will look at her as my little sister at magiging part ng support group niya sa hospital.”
He finds the role very challenging.
“Kasi nasanay ako doing comedy roles at dito, seryosong doctor ako so it’s quite a change for me. But it’s also a sort of wish fulfillment for me kasi when I was a kid, I wanted to be a sports doctor.
"Kasi noong bata pa ako, I’d see my dad (Benjie Paras) coming home injured from playing basketball.
"Naka-crutches or nabugbog, so I want to be a sports doctor to help athletes like him when they get injured during a game. O ngayon, natupad yung dream ko na yun dito sa show.”
Jeff Moses has many followers in his social media accounts, specially on Tiktok with his dance videos showing off his hunky physique.
He’s from San Carlos City, Negros Occidental where he is part of an all male dance group.
“Abot Kamay na Pangarap” is his first try at acting.
“I’m so thankful to GMA for their trust at nabigyan nila ako ng ganitong big break,” he says.
“I’m a new actor at bago pa lang talaga sa industriya, pero heto nabigyan na ako ng ganitong magandang role sa isang teleserye.”
What is his role?
“I play Regan, a janitor sa hospital where Jillian works as a young doctor. Kahit magkaiba ang positions namin, we become good friends and pinalalakas ko ang loob niya kapag may nangmamaliiit at umaapi sa kanya.
"May pressure on my part kasi puro sila batikang artista na mga kasama ko rito, samantalang bagito lang ako, so I feel I always have to do my best para hindi nila ako maiwanan.”
As Jillian’s new ka-love team in the show, does he know that Jillian’s previous love team with Will Ashley in “Prima Donnas 1 and 2” have a lot of followers and they might get mad with him for stealing Jillian from Will?
“Will is my friend kasi we’re both managed by GMA Artist Center Sparkle.
"Gusto ko lang sabihin sa fans nila ni Jillian na sorry na lang po kung ako ang ipinareha kay Jillian dito.
"Trabaho lang po ito, so don’t hate me po. Pero kahit i-hate nyo ako, love ko pa rin kayo.”
