DEBBIE GARCIA is a talent of Viva Artists Agency who has done supporting roles in several movies like “Fan Girl, Fan Boy”, “Trophy Wife”, “Amnesia Girl”, ‘Jowable”.
She has also appeared in several TV shows. She now goes sexy playing one of the leading ladies in the rollicking sex-comedy, “5-in-1, Patay Kang Manyak Ka”, directed by GB Sampedro.
She plays Mia, one of Kengkoy Heartthrob Wilbert Ross’ five simultaneous girlfriends.
“My character, si Mia, has a very strong personality,” she says. “Kapag alam niyang nasa tama siya, talagang ipaglalaban niya.
"But she’s estranged from her mother, may problema sila. It’s Wilbert as Dick who makes me understand my mother at pinunuan ang pagkukulang niya.
"That’s how our relationship in the movie started. Wilbert made me realize the importance ng matuto kang magpatawad and move on in your life.”
Since the title of their movie has “Patay Kang Manyak Ka” in it, has she ever been the victim of a maniac in real life?
“No, hindi pa ako namamanyak kasi kapag napansin ko pa lang na iba na ang ikinikilos nung guy, umaalis na agad ako.
"Natatakot din sila sa akin, kasi tinitingnan ko agad sila nang masama.
"I won’t ever tolerate it na gawaan nila ako ng masama.”
What if she finds out in real life that her boyfriend has other girlfriends aside from her, like Wilbert in the movie?
“Break na agad. May boyfriend nga akong nahuli kong may kausap na ibang girl, hiniwalayan ko agad kasi ayoko ng may kahati ako.”
In “5-in-1 Patay Kang Manyak Ka”, Debbie shares Wilbert with Rose Van Ginkle, Ava Mendez, Angela Morena and Jela Cuenca.
They are all surprised when Wilbert suddenly dies. He is a very rich man as his famous coffee brand called 5-in-1 Coffee became a very big success in the market.
It becomes a problem for her sister, a nun named Mother Teresa (played by Giselle Sanchez), as to who will inherit the business Wilbert left behind among the five women in his life.
During his wake, the five women are asked to give a eulogy to Wilbert and, in the process, all of them narrate their experiences with him when he was still alive and their respective stories are shown in flashbacks.
As they share their individual narratives and experiences with Gilbert, Mother Teresa listens and learns more about each of them.
She then processes what she discovers about them and draws her own conclusion as to who among them really deserves to be the next chief executive officer of Gilbert’s businesses.
“The film is a sex-comedy but it’s more than that,” adds Debbie.
“They’ll find out that Wilbert’s character is not really a bad guy as he is able to make his own positive contribution for the personal improvement ng bawat babaeng nakarelasyon niya.
"May magagandang insights about love and life na iiwan sa viewers ang aming pelikula that will start streaming sa Vivamax on September 23, so don’t miss it.”
