YASSER MARTA in 'WIN A DATE'
THE COLLABORATION of Regal Entertainment and GMA Network in “Regal Studio Presents” is a huge success and it is now celebrating its first anniversary with some special episodes.
“Yes, naka-one year na kami,” says Roselle Monteverde of Regal. “Thanks to all the loyal viewers who watch us every Sunday and make the show a consistent top rater.”
What does she think is the secret of the show’s success?
“I personally read all the stories submitted to make sure wala kaming inuulit na material.
"We also choose kung sino ang mga bagay na director and artista. It’s really matter of putting great minds together para laging fresh ang stories. At para fresh din ang stars, we tap the new actors of GMA and also of Regal.”
The first anniversary episode is “Love Your Beat” to be shown this Sunday, September 11.
It stars Lianne Valentin, fresh from the success of her afternoonsoap “Apoy sa Langit”.
She now plays the role of a singer who is dumped by her boyfriend who belongs to the same band as her.
She is paired with newcomer Carlo San Juan.
“I love my character as Stella in ‘Apoy sa Langit’, but I now say goodbye to her and I love that my character in ‘Regal Studio Presents’ is so different from Stella.
"Si Stella, kontrabida, maldita, but here mabait siya, pero bubbly, perky and maingay siya. Malakas din ang kilig factor ng story. Carlo plays here a singer and guitar player at maganda raw ang chemistry namin.”
On September 18, the episode is “It Must Be Love” and it stars Almira Muhlach as a single mother who loves cooking and owns a restaurant.
“Malapit siya sa puso ko kasi single mom naman talaga ako in real life,” she says. “Kaya nakaka-relate talaga ako sa role and story namin.”
Playing her teenage daughter is Jana Taladro as Carla who is in a teen romance with her classmate, Bryce Eusebio and Henry.
On September 25, the episode is entitled “Win a Date”, starring young hunk Yasser Marta of the primetime drama, “What We Could Be”, and teen star Althea Ablan of the coming afternoon drama, “Underage”.
What are their roles?
“I play Angelo at isa ako ritong sikat na artista and si Althea naman is my diehard fan,” says Yasser.
“Marami ritong makaka-relate na fans kasi it’s the story of a fan and her favorite idol.”
“This is the first time we’re paired ni Yasser and I’m excited to work with him,” says Althea.
“I play Kylie, fan girl niya ako. Lahat ng merchandise niya, binibili ko. Then nagpa-contest yung product na ine-endorse niya at ang magiging winner, makaka-date si Yasser.
"May twist in the story na nakakakilig and I’m so thankful kasi second time ko na itong maka-guest sa show and I’m so happy to be part of the first anniversary presentation of ‘Regal Studio Presents’.”
