She now plays a lead role in “Showroom”, where she plays Susan, an enterprising sales agent selling condo units.
She is willing to go to bed with potential clients just to make a sale, since she is a single mom and will do everything for the sake of her child.
This will be streaming on Vivamax this November 11, 2022, as directed by acclaimed indie filmmaker Carlo Obispo. Can she relate to her role as Susan?
“Not really kasi wala naman akong anak in real life,” she says.
“Playing her, I just think of my own mom and other moms who’d do anything for the benefit of their family.
"I think we shouldn’t be harsh in making judgment about my character or people like her, since we don’t kung ano ang pinagdaraanan nila sa buhay.”
How is it working with Direk Carlo Obispo who’s making his first sexy film in “Showroom”?
“Okay naman siya kasi he asks us muna if we’d be comfortable sa pinagagawa niya.
"But we have a love scene ni Alvaro Oteyza na gagawin sa labas ng isang building, e maliwanag pa.
"Tapos may bar sa katapat na building na may mga tao pa at makikita kami.
"So noong una, nahihiya pa kami but we said, sige, i-push na lang natin for the sake of the movie.
"In fairness, maganda naman ang pagkaka-shot doon sa eksena. Sana mapansin naman ang acting ko rito, kasi ang role ko rito, iba sa lahat ng ginawa ko before.
"Dito ako na-challenged nang husto, so thankful ako to Viva sa opportunity na binigay nila sa’kin dito.”
As an influencer, she has one of the most number of followers in social media with 4 million no less. How does she handle indecent proposals and bashings?
“Yung indecent proposals, hindi na mawawala yun, pero expert na ko dyan.
"I know how to handle them, pati bashers who judge me for doing sexy films.
"Basta sa akin, gagawin ko yung trabaho ko at makinood na lang kayo.”
She is paired with Kit Thompson in the movie and this is his comeback project since he got arrested for beating up his girlfriend in Tagaytay. So how is it working with him?
“Kinabahan ako nung una not because may issue siya but, kasi mas kilala siya, malaking pangalan siya.
"But maayos naman ang naging mga eksena namin. Sobrang mabait siyang katrabaho.
"He’s very friendly and nagtulungan kami in doing our scenes together. I’d say na yung love scene namin ang pinaka-daring na sa lahat ng nagawa ko.”
“Showroom” is about two young women who become rivals as sales agents.
As Susan, Rob is the newcomer in their company and Quinn Carillo is the more senior sales agent who gets threatened when she came in and started selling more units than her.
How is it working with Quinn with them playing as bitter rivals?
“Hindi kami nahirapan ni Quinn kasi friends na kami. Nagkasama na kami before pero wala kaming scenes together.
"Dito, kami ang laging magka=eksena and we became even closer while doing ‘Showroom’. Nagtutulungan kami sa shooting.
"We shared the same room so chikahan kami. Since she was the one who wrote the script, I consult her about my scenes and she guides me.”
