A daughter of Ilocos, Sen. Imee Marcos, has now come up with her first ever cookbook, “PinakBest! Recipes from the Marcos Kitchen and More”, featuring recipes that pays tribute to her family favorite Ilocano dishes.
It features traditional food that is innovated by adding ingredients according to personal taste, all-time favorite comfort foods made even more special and comforting as it has become a part of a family tradition, dishes that always hit home and would make you reminisce about all the simple and good times with your family.
Sen. Imee shares a detailed and step-by-step procedure for creating some of their family’s favorite dishes.
Among the recipes are Filipino favorites like Okoy, Dinengdeng, and Ginataang Kinilaw, which are from her parents’, President Ferdinand Marcos and First Lady Imelda Marcos, respective hometowns – Ilocos Norte and Leyte.
Aside from learning how to cook different recipes, PinakBest also has stories, shared by Sen. Imee herself, on how each dish gave a piece of a happy memory forever treasured by the Marcos family.
