SUNSHINE CRUZ is thankful that she is so busy this year.
She’s in the cast of GMA-7’s new drama series, “Underage”, and she has done three new movies: “Pamilya sa Dilim” and “Greatest Performance of My Life” with Direk Jay Altarejos and the last is “An Affair to Forget” with Direk Louie Ignacio which is her first streaming movie for Vivamax.
Didn’t she mind doing a movie for Vivamax which is known for its sexy flicks?
“Actually, itinago pa nila sa akin na Vivamax pala ito,” she says.
“Sabi ko, wala namang problema kasi when I read the script by Quinn Carillo, maganda siya kaya nagustuhan ko talaga.
"I play Rowena, a hotshot lawyer and it’s a new challenge for me kasi first time kong gumanap na isang abogada. Nag-nose bleed lang ako kasi ang daming lines in English.
"But trabaho is trabaho and this is a blessing. Also, this is with Viva, where I did a lot of films like ‘Ekis’, ‘Bullet’ at yung di natapos na ‘Dukot Queen’, so bale comeback ko rin ito sa Viva.”
She does a sexy scene in “An Affair to Forget”. How was she convinced to do it?
“Okay lang naman sa akin because I did a movie for Cinemalaya na cougar ako, ‘Malampaya’. And my daughters found it cool.
"Ito nga, nakita pa lang nila ang poster, sabi nila, ‘Mama, you’re hot!’
"Dito sa ‘An Affair to Forget’, I trusted Direk Louie Ignacio and in fairness, hindi niya ako pinabayaan.
"First shooting day ko, love scene agad at nakita ko sa monitor, maganda namang lumabas yung sexy scene with Allen as my husband, Oscar. Maayos tingnan.”
In the story, she plays a hotshot lawyer and Allen is her husband who is a painter.
Allen is intimidated with her as she earns more and she is a very strong woman. Their son, Karl Aquino as Charles, is also alienated from Sunshine and communicates only with his dad, Allen.
Sunshine suspects that Allen is cheating on her but she has no proof, so she hires Angelica Cervantes as Beth to seduce him so she can confirm that Allen is being unfaithful to her.
“Don’t miss ‘A Love Affair to Forget’ kasi puro magagaling ang mga kasama ko rito,” says Sunshine.
“Kakaiba rin ang kuwento at may twist sa story about Angelica’s character’s relationship with our family. The ending will really shock you.”
It’s common knowledge that she has just broken up with Macky Mathay. Is that one affair that she’d rather forget?
“I dont want to talk about that. I’m not ready kung anuman yun nangyari.
"Basta I can say na lahat ng naging love affairs ko, I don’t want to forget them kasi may natutuhan ako sa bawat isa sa kanila and they helped in making me a better person.”
She says love is currently not a priority for her.
“As of now, I just want to focus on my work. Basta sa ngayon, I can say na I’m very happy. I have three new movies, I’m in a new TV series, so i cannot complain.
"My heart is full. Basta I am proud of this movie and ako mismo, excited akong mapanood na siya kasi ang ganda ng trailer.”
How is she spending the holiday season?
“I will be with my side ng family ko on Christmas Day, then sa New Year, dahil very busy ako this year with so much work, I will treat my daughters naman and we will go to Bohol.
"Kasama namin ang brother nila, si Diego, and their dad (Cesar Montano) with his new partner."
