CARA GONZALES played the lead role of a female cop investigating a series of killings in “Purificacion” and a short role as a masseuse in the series “Erotica Manila”.
She was paired with Josef Elizalde in both projects and now, they’re together again in the sexy thriller, “Lawa”, which is directed by American filmmaker Phil Giordano and to staret streaming on March 3.
So how is it working with Josef again?
“We’re now very comfortable with each other,” she says. “Even in the love scenes, wala na kaming ilangan or hiyaan.
"Magaan siyang katrabaho as he’s really a gentleman.”
What are the roles they play in “Lawa”?
“Mag-boyfriend-girlfriend kami and we go to the lakeside where lovers meet and go out on dates.
"While we’re making out, hindi namin alam, si Sean de Guzman pala is videotaping what we’re doing then uploading it in the internet to make money out of it.”
It’s her first time to work with Phil Giordano, who’s really based in New York. How is it?
“First time ko to work with a foreign director and I thought mahihirapan kami.
"But he bonds well with us. With the help of our acting coach, he explains everything he wants us to do in every scene."
Direk Phil also explained to her in detail how to portray her character.
“Kasi very interesting yung character that I play in the movie.
"May surprising twist sa ending that makes it a story of revenge. Kaya I’m sure magugulat ang viewers.”
She says she enjoyed working with Direk Phil as he is not a tyrant on the set.
“When you suggest something in doing a scene, he is willing to listen and when he sees na maganda yung suggestion mo, then he incorporates it sa eksena.
"I’m really thankful sa tiwala niya sa mga artista niya. In the sexy love scenes, he is very considerate sa mga artista niya.
"He is very strict in safeguarding us. He makes sure na yun lang talagang kailangan sa set ang puede sa shoot. You can feel his respect for his actors.”
