RICA PERALEJO was the celebrity guest at the opening of the first HOKA store in the Philippines, along with Tim Yap and singer Janina Vela.
Hoka is popular running shoe brand and it now opens its doors to Pinoys at Ayala Malls Manila Bay (2nd Floor, Bldg B).
At 41, Rica has maintained the sexiness she exuded when she was launched by Viva Films as a nymphet in “Balahibong Pusa” in 2001, exactly 22 years ago.
She retired when she married Pastor Joseph Bonifacio and they now have two sons.
How does she keep fit?
“I maintain a positive outlook in life and I have a good relationship with the Lord,” she says. “I exercise regularly. I jump rope in my Hoka shoes, which is the chosen brand of runners and rope jumpers.”
Doesn’t she miss acting?
“I do. Hindi naman sa ayoko ng bumalik. There were offers, but I said no kasi nag-iba na ang priorities ko. I’m very busy being a hands on wife and mother. If ever I’d make a comeback, it would have to be a reall good project with a good director and great people who I’d work with.”
Rica is glad that Hoka now has its own store in the Philippines.
More than a shop, it has become a hub for hardcore and leisure runners. Known to be highly-cushioned, amazingly lightweight, and impressively breathable, HOKA has been making waves with international celebs like Bella Hadid, Adam Sandler, Britney Spears, Gwyneth Palthrow, Cameron Diaz and Reese Witherspoon.
