“ARABELLA” will replace “Abot Kamay ang Pangarap” on GMA’s Afternoon Prime on March 6 and it launches to full stardom Shayne Sava and Althea Ablan playing the soap’s title roles of Ara and Bella.
Shayne won the last Starstruck search and was last seen in “Raising Mamay”. What can she say now that she gets topbilling in “AraBella”?
“I’m so happy that GMA appreciates my work and they believe in my talent,” Shayne says.
“I’m really thankful to them for trusting me. It makes me feel so highly motivated para mas lalo kong galingan ang trabaho kor rito sa ‘AraBella.”
She likes her character as Ara.
“Kawawa si Ara, marami siyang pinagdaanan. She’s an orphan who was adopted by Antonio Aquitania pero napatay naman ito and another family got her na sobrang inaapi naman siya.
"Hinulog ako rito sa dram, itinulak sa swimming pool at kung anu-ano pang ginawa sa akin.
"Maraming mahirap na scenes but Direk Adolf Alix and Linette Zurbano help us para maitawid namin nang maayos ang bawat eksena.”
She’s grateful to co-star with Camille Prats as their mother, Alfred Vargas and Wendell Ramos as the men who vie for Camille’s affection, Nova Villa and Ronnie Lazaro as the opportunistic senior citizens who raised Althea, Abdul Rahman as her leading man, Klea Pineda as Camille’s scheming sister in law, Mitzi Josh as her best friend and many more.
“Swerte kami ni Althea kasi sobrang galing ng lahat ng co-stars namin. Very giving sila.
"They will really help you para magawa mong mabuti ang trabaho mo, lalo si Ate Camille.
"Grabe siyang kaeksena kasi very expressive ang eyes niya. When you see her eyes, mararamdamaman mo agad ang emosyon at maiiyak ka na.”
She will treasure the experience of working with Nova Villa and Ronnie Lazaro.
“It’s fun to work with them kasi sobrang witty nila. Sa batuhan ng lines, they’re very funny.
"Pipigilan mo ang sarili mo para hindi ka matawa. It’s such an honor na makatrabaho ko sila.
"Off cam, si Tita Nova, andami niyang kinukuwento about her experiences in showbiz. Marami kang lessons na matutuhan sa kanila about life and work.”
How is it working again with her ka-love team Abudl Rahman?
“Okay na okay kami as this is our third time to be paired after ‘Legal Wives’, kunsaan di pa namin kilala masyado ang isa’t isa, then sa ‘Raising Mamay’ where we got to know each other better.
"Dito sa ‘AraBella’, I can say mas comfortable na kami sa isa’t isa and we’ve become good friends.”
