DIRECTOR ROMAN PEREZ has made some of the biggest hits in Vivamax, like “Taya”, “Siklo”, “Hugas”, “Sitio Diablo” and “Pamasahe”.
He’s now back with a new movie that tackles very controversial topic “Domme”, which is about BDSM (bondage, domination, sadism, masochism.)
Does he have any personal experience on this in real life?
“I have no personal experience but everything is based on the research and studies we made with Salome Salvi, our adult content creator who is teaching us about this subject matter,” he says.
“And based on our research, marami talagang nagre-resort sa ganitong klase ng sexual therapy, lalo na nung pandemic.
Therapy ito kasi for people who are under stress, maraming problema, it helps them cope with their personal problems.”
He says this is true specially with lonely people.
“Ang malulungkot na tao, even the very successful ones, kailangan nila ito as a challenge for them sexually and psychologically.
"Naghahanap sila ng bagong thrill. This film, ang genre niya, nasa gitna siya ng arthouse, mainstream and Vivamax films.”
What can he say about the proposal for the MTRCB to also supervise streaming channels like Vivamax?
“Ibig sabihin niyan, ang mga tao nakatingin sa Vivamax, binabantayan ang bawat galaw namin.
"So dapat lang kaming mag-ingat at maging responsible sa paggawa ng movie, kung ano ang ipapakita namin. In the end, story pa rin ang mas importante.
"Ako naman, kung hindi talaga kailangan sa story hindi ko naman gagawin.”
How is Ava in the role of a domme or dominatrix?
“When I told this kay Ava, sabi niya, aba, iba ito. And it’s true, kasi ayoko ng gumawa ng ginagawa na ng ibang directors.
"Parang paramihan na lang ng hubaran, ng flesh na ipapakita. But our goal in Vivamax is to show edgy stories not usually seen in local cinema.
"‘Domme’ is sexually stimulating, pero walang masyadong sex scenes.
"Ibang klaseng pagka-daring ang ipapakita rito, but all out si Ava rito, wala siyang limitations kasi single siya ngayon, e.
"Walang magbabawal sa kanya. Ava is really ahead of her time and this is the perfect vehicle for her and I’m glad I’m the one who is launching her.”
As a domme, Ava is Estelle, a woman who plays the dominant role in BDSM sexual activities.
She often uses a whip and other gadgets to inflict pain on her partner while they are having sex.
"Domme" follows the story of Cholo (Ali Asistio), a customer service agent who moves to Manila seeking better opportunities.
Every night in his new condo, he would hear loud noises, moans and screams, as if a couple was fighting from a nearby unit.
Out of curiosity, Cholo spies on his neighbors and discovers their secret.
The noises he hears are not because of a couple's fight, but from the extreme pleasure and wild erotic practices performed by a dominatrix named Estelle (Ava Mendez) to Raymond (Mark Anthony Fernandez), Cholo's neighbor.
As Cholo interferes with Estelle and Raymond's business, the more he gets involved in their lives, and more so, into their mess.
