RHIAN RAMOS just laughs off the insinuations that she is in a lesbian relationship with current Miss Universe Philippines Michelle Dee.
This came after she admitted that she and Michelle have been best friends and housemates for two years now.
Michelle, in turn, has confessed recently that she is bisexual, meaning, she’s AC-DC and can do it with both men and women.
It’s also common knowledge that Rhian has a boyfriend, businessman-politician Sam Versoza and despite rumors that they’ve called it quits, the truth is they are still very much together.
“I am not Michelle’s only friend who supports her wholeheartedly,” she says. “We are actually a big group of friend who will always be here for her to help her achieve her dream of bringing honor to the country.
"We know she really worked hard for it and we will be there in El Salvador to personally give her moral support and encouragement on the finals night of this year’s Miss Universe.”
Rhian says she’s well aware of Michelle’s sexuality and Michelle even consulted her before she decided to come out in public as a bisexual via a magazine interview. She said she told Michelle to just do whatever she feels right for herself.
As far as her and their friends, her coming out didn’t change anything in their group and they are even proud of her for admitting her true sexuality.
“What is important is that she’s a good person and we love her,” Rhian adds.
Her boyfriend Sam was a judge in the Miss Universe Philippines coronation night and it so happened that he was the one who got picked to ask Michelle in the Q&A portion.
“It was sheer coincidence,” says Rhian.
“It added color to the pageant, but I was actually praying na ‘Lord, huwag nyo ibigay kay Sam yung tanong para kay Michelle’, but yun nga mismo ang nangyari. Si Sam ang siyang natapat kay Michelle. How funny!”
Rhian admits she’s very happy with Sam.
“I thought I was with a businessman but it turned out he really has a good heart for helping other people. He’s doing a lot of charity works, so I’m very proud of him.”
Breaking up and reconciling with him has made her realize the importance of good communication.
“Lahat naman ng bagay, makukuha sa maayos na usapan. So it’s really important to have good communication skills.
"Kasi sometimes, we get easily upset without really understanding what is going on. So it’s important to know how to understand your feelings better so you can communicate, articulate it better for your partner.”
Rhian is part of GMA’s new drama series, “Royal Blood”, that starts airing this Monday to replace “Hearts on Ice”.
“I play the second child of Tirso Cruz III as our family’s patriarch, Gustavo Royales.
"It’s nice to work again with Dingdong Dantes, who plays the bastard son of our dad. We’ve been paired before na kami ang magkapareha, but this time, we’re half siblings naman.”
What’s the name of her character?
“I play Margaret, and she’s a gray character, very mysterious, with secrets of her own.
"The viewers will be guessing kung mabait ba yung character ko or am I a bad person?
"I’m married here kay Dion Ignacio as Andrew, who has schemes and designs of his own.
"Kakaiba yung role and I welcome the challenge of playing someone who’s very different from me, as it allows me to explore and learn even more in interpreting the character of Margaret.”
