ALDEN RICHARDS and Bea Alonzo are together again after they teamed up in “Start Up”.
But now, Alden will be the host while Bea will be one of the judges in a new talent show, “Battle of the Judges”, that starts this July 15 on GMA Network.
It was bruited about that they have a rift and this is the reason why the movie they’re supposed to do was shelved. But both Alden and Bea denied that they have a gap between them.
“The movie didn’t push through because we both got busy with other projects,” says Bea. “I tried theatre and did a musical. Now, I’m supposed to do a drama series with Dennis Trillo.”
“We really don’t know how that rumor started,” says Alden. “Ako, I got busy with my movie with Sharon Cuneta na ipapalabas sa December filmfest. Proof na wala kaming gap, heto at magkasama kami sa ‘Battle of the Judges’.”

“Battle of the Judges” serves as the newest battleground for Filipino talent.
The show features four prominent entertainment personalities who are all set to lead their respective team to the battle stage to determine who will be declared as the first-ever ultimate champion.
They are The Strategist, Boy Abunda; The Entertainment Industry Leader, Ms. Annette Gozon-Valdes; The Powerhouse Comedian, Jose Manalo; and The Premier Leading Lady, Bea Alonzo.
Like any talent competition, this show’s unique format involves strategy as much as performance. The competition between judges begins as they mentor and prepare their squad members for the three levels of competition.
The first level is Battle of the Best or the elimination round. This is the thrilling encounter of 24 squad members who will fight it out in 12 Battles.
Next level is Battle to the Top, the semifinal round where the four judges will continue to guide the remaining 12 performers who will compete against each other in 6 battles in order to move forward to the final level.
The last level is The Ultimate Battle or the Championship round.
Here, the remaining six performers will face each other to conquer the battle stage and the winner will be proclaimed as the one and only ultimate champion!

“I’ve seen how the judges work,” says Alden. “Hanga ako kasi talagang they really take their work in guiding their own team seriously.
"But in spite of the tough competition, they are all very fair in handling all the contestants assigned to them, kaya nga tinawag na ‘Battle of the Judges’ ito kasi hindi lang yung contestants ang nagko-compete but also the judges themselves, making the whole show very engaging.
"Talagang tutukan ng viewers from start to finish.”
