JENNYLYN MERCADO FEELS LIKE A NEWBIE AGAIN AS SHE RESUMES WORK FOR HER NEW TV SERIES

                                                     with leading man XIAN LIM

with co-stars VICTOR ANASTACIO, SHYR VALDEZ, MYRTLE SARROSA & VALERIE CONCEPCION

JENNYLYN MERCADO is back before the cameras, resuming the shoot of “Love. Die. Repeat”, the mystery-drama that she started working on in September of 2021.

Taping of the show had to be stopped when she got pregnant with her and Dennis Trillo’s first child.

She gave birth to their beautiful daughter who they named Dylan Jade on April 25, 2022.

This is their second offspring, for both Jennylyn and Dennis.

Jennylyn has a son with Patrick Garcia, Alex Jazz, who’s now a teenager turning 15 years old on August 16.

Dennis, in turn, has a son with with beauty queen-actress Carlene Aguilar, Calix Andreas, born on September 22, 2007.

Baby Dylan turned one year old last April and her parents gave her a bonggang first birthday party.

After her birthday celebration, Jennylyn returned to work.

“Love. Die. Repeat” is directed by Irene Villamor, who did the films “Ulan” and “Meet Me in St. Gallen”.

Jennylyn plays Angela and her leading man is Xian Lim as Bernard, her husband.

It’s their first time to be paired with each other.

They have a big supporting cast that includes Mike Tan, Gardo Versoza, Valeen Montenegro, Myrtle Sarrosa, Ina Feleo, Nonie Buencamino, Shyr Valdez, Malou de Guzman, Samantha Lopez, Lui Manansala, Faye Lorezno, Ervic Vijandre and Victor Anastacio.

Jennylyn was last seen in a TV series with Dingdong Dantes in the Pinoy adaptation of “Descendants of the Sun” in 2020.

Before she began taping again, she first hied off back to the gym to shed off the unwanted pounds she gained during her pregnancy.

“I wanted to regain my former figure before I gave birth kasi ang feeling ko, tumaba talaga ako,” she says.

But all her co-stars in the show assure her she’s as good as new and doesn’t look like she just had another baby.

“Siempre, nakakapanibago rin,” she says. “Kasi for two years, I focused on my family, sila ang naging priority ko, ang maging mommy to Dylan.

"Naging mahirap din nga for me going back to taping kasi malalayo ako kay Dylan, e nasanay siyang laging nandiyan lang ako, lagi akong nakikita.

"So I had to make sure na hindi niya ako laging hahanap-hanapin.”

Even when it comes to acting, she says she felt like a newcomer again.

“Yes, ang feeling ko, para akong baguhang nagsisimula uli. Yung hindi ko pa agad makabisado ang lines ko, so kailangan ko ng time talaga na.

"Days before the actual taping, gusto ko malaman agad ang sequences na kukunan para makapag-prepare talaga ako nang husto.”

She’s happy that everyone on the set understands her situation.

“Yes, with the help of my co-stars, the production staff, and of course our director, they really helped in motivating na kaya ko gawin lahat ng eksenang dapat naming i-tape.

"And I really want to thank them for all their invaluable help sa pagbabalik kong ito sa trabaho.”
