BEA ALONZO says she felt immediately comfortable with Dennis Trillo while doing her second series with GMA-7, “Love Before Sunrise”.
“Mataas na agad ang level of trust kasi sabay kaming ni-launch noon sa Star Circle at nagkasama kami sa show na ‘2TBU’ then lumipat siya sa GMA,” she adds.
“Through the years, I’ve seen his growth as an actor. He has won so many acting awards and I’m happy for him.
"Pero somehow, nailang pa rin kami kasi first taping day namin kasi first scene namin, we are in a relationship na. So medyo mahirap kasi kailangang makilala nyo munang mabuti ang isa’t isa.
"But as professional actors, we got over that easily as we have to make the scene work.”
She says she came to admire Dennis more after working with him.
“I saw his discipline when it comes to his craft as an actor. He takes his work seriously.
"Sa set, tahimik lang siya. There’s an air of mystery in him, but you can expect him to deliver once he faces the camera.
"No wonder na marami siyang roles na nag-stick sa viewers at naging iconic.
"Pinag-aaralan niyang mabuti ang role niya at bawat eksenang gagawin niya.”
Bea says they were offered by GMA several projects to choose from and they chose the story of ‘Love Before Sunrise’.
“He felt ito ang material na bagay, tamang-tama para sa first series namin and I agree with him.
"I think it’s one reason why he’s successful. He knows how to choose the right projects, he knows what he can give to it and he does it really well.”
She also admires his work ethic.
“He respects the people he work with. He’s never late on the set and when he comes, he has already memorized all his lines, what he’s expected to do.
"Nakakahiya nga ang sobrang pagka-professional niya.
"One time, may shoot kami sa Tagaytay, sobrang traffic so lahat kami ng staff, na-late sa call time.
"Pero siya, he came on time kasi na-anticipate niya yung heavy traffic going there. He thinks ahead kaya professional talaga siya.”
In the story, Bea plays Stella and Dennis plays Atom.
They fell in love years ago, but broke up as they realized it was not the right time for them since Bea has so many problems with her immediate family.
They meet other people along the way, Andrea Torres and Sid Lucero, but years later, they will cross paths again and discover that they still have feelings for each other. Is this their second chance at love?
Director Mark de la Cruz says Bea and Dennis have an electrifying chemistry on screen.
"They not only look good together but they also act well together," he says. "Their dramatic scenes will surely make you realize they are both very accomplished in the acting department."
“Actually, nakakapagod gumawa ng dramatic scenes, lalo na kung sobrang intense kasi it drains you,” says Bea.
“To be honest, nakakapagod talaga umiyak kasi hindi biro yung emotions na ipinapakita mo.
"But it can also very fulfilling, lalo na at magaling nga ang kaeksena mo, like Dennis.
"I can say that we do complement each other and hindi naman kami mapapahiya sa combination namin.”
"Love Before Sunrise" starts airing this Monday on GMA Telebabad to replace "Royal Blood".
