JENNYLYN MERCADO IN A NEW TV SERIES AND A NEW MOVIE, 'ALL ABOUT MY WIFE', WITH SAM MILBY & GERALD ANDERSON

JENNYLYN MERCADO is back on TV with the series “Live. Die. Repeat”, which she is taping now with Xian Lim, who’s a former Kapamilya actor.

Now, she will also be back on the big screen in “All About My Wife”.

And this time, she will be paired with two more Kapamilya actors, Sam Milby and Gerald Anderson, both Fil-Ams.

Jennylyn has made several successful romcoms before, like “English Only, Please”, where she was also paired with another former Kapamilya actor, Derek Ramsay.

It was a big hit in the Metro-Manila Filmfest in 2014 and for her hilarious performance in the film, she won the MM filmfest best actress award

The last movie she did is “Tripol Trobol” with Coco Martin in 2019.

“All About My Wife” is the second time Jennylyn is paired with Sam Milby as they first did “The Prenup” for Regal in 2015, directed by Jun Lana.

But it’s her first time to work with Gerald Anderson.

“All About My Wife” is a Tagalog adaptation of a South Korean blockbuster hit with the same title shown in 2012.

In turn, it was based on an Argentine movie titled “Un Novio Para Mi Mujer”, a big hit in 2008 and was also adapted by other foreign countries.

In the story, Jennylyn and Sam will play husband and wife.

Sam is already bored with Jen for being a nagging wife with a depressive personality and is forever complaining.

He then hires a legendary playboy, played by Gerald, to seduce Jen, to make it appear that she is the one who is unfaithful to their marriage.

The local version has RJ Agustin as executive producer for new film outfits Creation Studio and Glimmer Philippines.

It will be directed by Real Florido, who made his debut film, “First Ko si Third”, in 2014.

Florido has directed TV shows for GMA-7. For Viva, he helmed the romantic films “Habangbuhay” with McCoy de Leon and Elisse Joson, and “Will You Be My Ex” with Julia Barretto and Diego Loyzaga.
