MOIRA DE LA TORRE was a contestant in “The Voice Pilippines” in 2013, exactly ten years ago.
Mitoy Yonting won, with Klarisse de Guzman as runner up, but there is no doubt that Moira is now a bigger star than any of them as one of our country’s biggest pop stars.
She composes her own songs and her album, “Malaya”, is certified 8 times platinum.
The lead single “Malaya” was used in the Viva movie “Camp Sawi”.
She married singer Jason Hernandez in 2019 and their wedding duet, “Ikaw at Ako”, became a big hit. But their marriage did not last and ended in separation in 2022, with Jason admitting he became unfaithful.
Moira says she has since fully healed and recovered.
She has just been officially launched as the brand ambassador of Destileria Limtuaco’s Maria Clara Sangria, the leading sangria brand in the country.
Moira herself composed the catchy anthem “Maria Clara,” a full-length song that is the brand’s new jingle.

“It basically serves as a friend for all seasons,” says Moira. “And so, ‘Maria Clara’ is a reminder of where you’ve been and where you’re going and who you are as a woman.”
Moira adds that she wanted to focus on the effect of Maria Clara on the lives of people saying:
“For me, Maria Clara is really a comforting friend. It helps ease loneliness, it has also helped people to cope with whatever problems they are expering.
"And it has helped people celebrate the happy occasions in their lives. I’m familiar with the brand as I grew up in Olongapo and my titas will always drink Maria Clara Sangria during special occasions, specially sa New Year.
"I really drink it so I felt it’s a brand that I can really represent.”
