CARLA ABELLANA gets to work with Gabby Concepcion again in their new afternoon series, “Stolen Life”, that will start airing on November 13, 3:20 PM.
Their previous show, “Because of You” was a toprater on prime time.
“It’s always a pleasure to work with him as he’s such a gentleman and a professional,” Carla says.
“Our first show together was a romantic comedy. This time, in ‘Stolen Life’, we’re doing a drama with a touch of the supernatural involving astral projection.”
In the story, Carla plays Lucy, who’s married to a rich, handsome and loving husband, Darius, played by Gabby.
Their peaceful life will be shattered when Carla’s envious cousin, Farrah, as played by Beauty Gonzales, who is a wanted criminal, enters the picture and messes up their relationship.
Through astral projection, Beauty will transfer her soul into Carla’s body and practically steal her happy life.
Carla will then do everything to get back her body and her life stolen by the evil, scheming Beauty.
Astral projection is explained as a supernatural phenomenon involving out of body experience.
The astral body or the soul is believed to be able to function separately from the physical body and through astral projection, can travel outside’s one’s body through the astral plane and occupy the body of another person.
This has been seen before in the Netflix TV series "Behind Her Eyes".
“The material is something new for local viewers,” adds Carla.
“It’s also very challenging for me and Beauty kasi we will be playing dual roles, our own selves and also each other.
"Nagkapalit kami kaya yung bida, naging kontrabida at yung kontrabida, naging bida.
"In fairness, it helps us to show our versatility as an actress and the concept of astral projection became a perfect device of this.
"Beauty and I became good friends while taping this show. Napakagaan niyang katrabaho at nagkasundo kami sa maraming bagay."
Jerry Sineneng, who directed “Start Up”, gets to direct Carla and Beauty in this afternoon series and he has nothing but good words for both of them.
“Ginulat nila ako kasi pareho silang magaling,” he says. “Very demanding ang roles nila at maraming mahihirap na eksena, but they both rose up to the challenges of their roles and the unusual material itself.
"And Gabby is just the perfect leading man for both of them.”
Supporting Gabby, Carla and Beauty are Celia Rodriguez as Ason Rigor, Lovely Rivero as Belen, William Lorenzo as Ernesto, Anjo Damiles as Vince and Divine Aucina as Joyce.
This will start airing on GMA Afternoon Prime on November 13, replacing “Magandang Dilag”.
