LOVI AND GOLDY
LOVI POE is so thankful to have a very understanding husband like Montgromery “Monty” Blencowe.
“A few days after our August wedding in England, I left him to go back to work immediately and we haven’t seen each other since then,” she says. “Hopefully, I might get to see him in L.A. during the Christmas break.”
Has it finally sunk into her that she is now a married woman?
“Actually, I’m not used to it yet, so medyo ilang pa rin ako calling him my husband and me as his wife.
"I’m just so thankful that he is very understanding when it comes to my career and he really wants to see me fly and shine on my own as an individual.”
She says planning and preparing for the wedding was so difficult.
“It’s definitely not a joke. So hard kasi nga it’s long distance. I’m here taping and he’s based in L.A. It’s good he is so supportive and was really hands on.
"When we first talked about our wedding about two years ago, he wants it to be on a dream location like Sicily in Italy. He says it’s something that I deserve.
“He consulted me on everything about the wedding and the reception. We have different likes and tastes but we manage to make it merge, from the flowers, the food, and all the other details. It’s good team work talaga.”
It’s an open book that she has had many boyfriends before. So what makes Monty stand out from all the rest?
“It’s hard to explain, but the fact that he’s the one I chose to marry says a lot.
"I’m so proud of him and all his accomplishments as a scientist. He really considers me a partner as he even lets me read all the scientific papers he writes.
"Even my mother and my sister, they like him. My sister now lives in L.A. so she hangs out with Monty and we do facetime together.”
Any plans to have a baby soon? “None yet. We’re still getting used to the idea of being married and right now, we’re much more focused with our work and just being together. So starting our own family would have to wait.”
Lovi had a special lunch with the press as the jewelry line she is endorsing, Imono, is launching it’s Holiday Collection for the coming Yuletide season.
She’s now on her third contract with Imono and its owner-designer, Goldy Hing, expressed her admiration for Lovi as a singer and an actress.
“Her talent has really grown a lot since she joined showbiz and she’s one of our finest celebrities today,” says Goldy.
“We really made the right choice in selecting her as our brand ambassador.”
Lovi says she really uses all the pieces of jewelry that Imono sends to her.
“They’re all beautiful,” she says. “Classy and elegant but at a reasonable price. I carry them wherever I go, to the U.S. or to England, or in my most recent trip, in Milan.
"I carry many pieces then I choose from them kasi mahilig ako mag-mix and match. They’re ideal gifts for your loved ones this coming holiday season.”
So what makes their Holiday Collection different from the rest?
“We made sure that there is something for everyone,” says Goldy.
“We have jewelry that’s gender neutral, puede for both women and men, even for children, and also for both the young and old alike.”
“Monty and I even wore them at our wedding,” adds Lovi. “We had necklaces with lockets for both my husband and I.
"Later on, they’ll design a special Lovi collection based on the various characters I’ve played in the past.
"I’m am just really so proud and grateful to be part of the Imono family.”
Lately, she’s been doing mostly TV series like “Flower of Evil” and “Batang Quiapo”.
When will she do a movie again after she did “Seasons” on Netflix?
“Well, right now, I’m happy to report I’m shooting a new film project where I play a totally different kind of character. We’ll let you know more about it soon.”
