AFTER doing supporting roles in “Punit na Langit” and “Patikim-tikim”, Apple Dy now stars in a solo lead role as a woman torn between a father and a son in the unique love triangle drama, “Tuhog”, that starts streaming on Vivamax today.
“The title is ‘Tuhog’ kasi tinuhog ko rito ang mag-amang sina Joko Diaz and Arron Villaflor,” she says.
“Sa story, live in kami ni Arron sa bahay ng father niya. Sundalo siya at ipinadala siya sa Mindanao at sa isang enkwentro with the rebels, nasabugan siya and went missing.”
Apple and Joko were officially informed that he is dead. Apple wants to leave the house of Joko, but he restrains her as they are both grieving.
And so, while they are consoling each other while mourning for their less, they get so close to one another and eventually fall in love.
But the twist is that Apple gets a call one day saying that Arron has been found after he escaped from the clutches of the rebels who imprisoned him.
“Yun na nga, bumalik siya, at hindi siya aware na may relasyon na rin kami ng father niya,” adds Apple.
“Mahihirap ang mga eksena and first, sabi ko, kaya ko ba ito? But our director, si GB Sampedro, encouraged me and motivated me.
"He has directed me befor sa series na ‘High School on Sex’ kaya comfortable na ako sa kanya.
"He’s very approachable and very patient in helping me. Very happy and positive ang atmosphere sa set niya.”
She has love scenes with both Joko and Arron. So how was it?
“Mas marami yung kay Arron. Kay Sir Joko, very mild lang. But with Arron, more daring and passionate.
"At ang daming iba ibang positions ang ipinagawa sa amin.
"Tapos, may scenes na sinasaktan ako ni Arron while making love kasi naging sadista siya after maging bihag siya ng mga rebelde at nagkaroon siya ng PTSD.”
She is thankful that Joko and Arron are her leading men for her first solo flick.
“Kasi pareho sina Arron and Sir Joko, they are both gentleman and very professional. Tinatanong muna nila kunsaan ako comfortable kaya hindi ako nahirapan sa love scenes namin.
"And they are aware that I am a newbie at hindi gaya nilang matagal na sa industry, so they really helped me sa acting ko in my scenes with them.”
The blurb in their poster says “Kulang ang isa”, implying she is not just contented with one so she got two partners. Has she ever experienced that in real life?
“Sa shoes and bags and clothes, definitely, for me, kulang ang isa. But when it comes to love, hindi ko kaya ang dalawang pagsasabayin.
"Kasi when I’m in a relationship, masyado akong focused doon sa isa lang and so, no time for another one. Magulo yon.”
