KYLIE PADILLA melted down when Boy Abunda interviewed her in “Fast Talk” while talking about her failed marriage with Aljur Abrenica.
"I just wish nagtira ako ng para sa sarili ko kasi I gave it my all talaga,” she declares.
"People in relationships will go through struggles. Meron talaga, kasama talaga ‘yon.
"But because I made the promise of marriage, sabi ko sa sarili ko, if I’m unhappy now and magiging ganito na ‘yung setup namin, ipaglalaban ko pa rin para sa mga anak ko. Inubos ko lahat and yet nauwi din sa hiwalayan.
“Galing ako sa broken family so ayokong matulad yung mga anak ko sa amin. I made a promise talaga to myself e, na kahit na I was going through a postpartum noon.
"Ipinaglaban ko pa rin hanggang sa dulo—na paninindigan ko ‘yung ginawa naming kasal. But the fact that it wasn’t returned, masakit talaga para sa akin.”
Well, she has no one to blame but herself. When she and Aljur first got into a relationship, it was in 2011 when she was only 18 years old. She was just too young!
It was obviously a problematic affair as she broke up with him in 2014.
But she didn’t learn her lesson. She went back to him in 2016 and the next year, she gave birth to their first son, Alas.
In 2019, she gave birth to their second son, Axl. They admitted separating in 2021.
Soon after that, Aljur got hitched with AJ Raval and the persistent scuttlebutt is they already have their own love child, but they have yet to formally admit it in public.
In a way, Kylie is still fortunate as GMA Network continues to support her career.
She is never without an assignment.
After their break up, she was given a very good project where she played the title role, the sports drama “Bolera”, on primetime. It was a big hit.
After that, she did the action-adventure series “Mga Lihim ni Urduja’ then did a guest role in “Voltes V: Legacy”.
Now, she is also playing an important guest role in “Black Rider” as the first girlfriend of Ruru Madrid who later becomes his wife who unfortunately has a tragic exit.
Coming up next is “Sang’gre”, where she reprises her role as Amihan, which she suddenly left in “Encantadia 2016” when it was discovered that she’s already pregnant.
Also, she got to do a major movie, “Unravel”, filmed in Switzerland with Gerald Madrid where her acting as the depressed heroine who thinks of committing suicide was widely praised and even gave her an acting nomination.
She's also said to be doing another new movie with Enrique Gil and Derrick Monasterio for GMA Pictures.
In contrast, Aljur made the wrong decision when he suddenly left GMA while he was still officially under contract with the Kapuso Network.
GMA gave him so many good projects but it’s apparent he doesn’t know which side of his bread is buttered.
He transferred to ABS-CBN, thinking he’d be successful there like Paulo Avelino, who was ousted in Starstruck when he won, but now definitely has a much more flourishing acting career than him.
Well, tough luck, that ABS-CBN then lost its franchise and he even made some unsavory remarks about this, so we doubt if they would still ever get him again.
He did some films, but they all didn’t do well at the tills, like “Mamasapano”, “Kahit Maputi na ang Buhok Ko” and the execrable comedy, “Single Bells”.
He now has a new movie coming up, “Sa Kamay ng Diyos”, where he plays a real life pastor. Do you think this will give his career its much needed boost?
Proof that Aljur is really down on his luck is he agreed to do a skin flick with Vivamax opposite his current inamorata, AJ Raval.
He gleefully bared his butt in a number of sex scenes.
Well, here’s hoping it will really inject some energy into his struggling career.
